Well I made it to goal at WI on Thurs. I go to my stabilization appt on Monday where I know they'll try to talk me into losing more since I'm at the high end of my BMI (they already tried to last week). I think I am comfortable where I am and have now learned the tools to do it on my own if I decide to at a later time. I'm anxious to see my new menu. I celebrated with my girls the night I reached goal and am now trying to burn off the 2 lbs I've gained. I sure hope it's not always going to be like this. Don't want to go to WI after reaching goal to yet again see a gain.

I look forward to continue reading all of your success stories. It's been an up and down battle, but I know you'll all will get there just like I did. I couldn't do it without your support. Thanks!

Default On-program ice cream recipe

Hi everyone!
Here is a recipe I invented for on-program ice cream. I'm sure others have discovered it too; it's not rocket science.

Put the following in the blender:
4 oz cottage cheese
1 vanilla pudding HNS
frozen berries (optional)

blend until smooth and creamy, which can take a while depending on the blender. I have to stop it several times to coax the berries into the blades.

Put it in the freezer for 30-60 minutes (longer might work, too, but I get impatient)
Take out and whip with a fork

You can make this with whatever fruit you want, really, but I like using frozen berries. I have even "cheated" and used half a banana. This is SO GOOD. When I'm feeling generous, I let my skinny girlfriend have some, too. She loves it!

Hope you enjoy!

I WI this morning & lost 2 more pounds. I was dissapointed that it was not a bigger loss, then I smacked myself to get over it. Two punds is great. I'll take it! Now just 1.5 more & I will have 50 - OK not too much excitement over that, I'll save it for next week!

Good morning,

Congratulations Airforcewife for reaching your goal! What a great accomplishment. How long have you been on the program? I have been on the program 7 weeks now and have lost 21 lbs. I still have 21 to go to reach my goal. This is a critical time for me as I find myself getting a little less focused and going off program more. I am starting to feel good and I start thinking...whats wrong with this weight and then I eat something off program. Does anyone else share these thoughts/feelings and if so - how do you stay motivated and committed? I leave for vacation in a week and I know it will be challenging to say the least so I want to stay real focused this week.

Just wanted to get my thoughts out there for whatever they are worth. Have a great day!

All I can say is PLAN, PLAN, PLAN, its what works for me. I find that when I do I stick to it as opposed to when I just wing it for the day or the week.

I have a Sunday morning ritual to sit with my coffee & my dh & we plan the week out together.

Vacation coming soon too & its not going to be easy, we will be at an outdoor venue for three days. Can't bring too much of my own foods inside the gates (Most of it would melt or go bad) So it will be a bit of a challange for me. But I am gonna try to plan for what I can & take my drinks & enhancer to keep me from cravings & impulse urges.

Your half way there! Congrats to you

Congrats to AirForceWife! That's amazing that you met your goal! I can't wait to hear what comes next.

Whew..went to my WI today, and after being on vacation last week, and having some stressful family junk rear it's head, plus TOM, I was sure that I'd either be the same or have added a few lbs...not SO! I had lost another 2 1/2 lbs, in spite of feeling all bloated!

So I am 2 lbs away from the 30 lb board and 3 lbs away from being half-way to my goal.

The best part is, I was able to easily slip into a pair or shorts this morning, no binding ANYWHERE, again in spite of feeling bloated.

So I am hopeful that I will be signing the 30 lb board by next Monday at the very latest.

It's funny, but I look back and I can't believe that I've lost 28 lbs, and that I ever weighed over 200 lbs! Heck, I can't believe I ever got over 150 lbs, but I did! There was a time when weighing 174 would have put me into a depression spiral, but I am SO THRILLED with how I look right now...I mean I have a waist line!

Hope everyone has a wonderful week! Keep posting!

Wink

I too am new and found the old posts after doing a general internet search and was thrilled to read evryones' expereinces with MRC and then it ended. I think this looks like some of the same people on the that thread.
I am in my first official week and did great on the preconditioning week losing 6 pounds. My daughter who joined with me did well too(7 pounds). We are on day 3 of the diet. It's really going to be a challenge. I already feel like I'm out of ideas on how to make those lunchtime salad veggies more interesting. But, hopefully when we go back(tomorrow) to weigh and receive the next phase it will give me a few more options. My daughter is having a little trouble with the drinks(I really don't mind them). I am hoping she'll find one that she likes.
Any tips or suggestions are welcomed! Thanks

I've been making iced cappuccino in the blender with the cappuccino mix and milk. It really hits the spot on these hot days. I've also added instant decaf coffee to it - it tastes like a coffee milkshake!

Things are still moving along - even if slow. But did lose another 4 #'s in body fat and 29 inches. It's nice having more clothes in my closet starting to fit again.
I'm a HUGE fan of the cheesecake. It feels like cheating at breakfast! I highly recommend trying it. Also, if you make it without the crust, you can put strawberries on it and eat it for lunch!

I've had a few setbacks with my willpower over the past few weeks. Time2bfit - I have the same issue - when I start getting comfortable with my weight, it gets even harder for me NOT to "have just one" thing off plan. I have no idea how to conquer it, but I'm not going to give up. Today, my center recommended the Guggul for reducing cravings. They recommended that I dissolve it in a HNS - it tastes horrible. I actually have a bottle of it, I just can't stand the taste of it even to swallow it!

On the brighter side, I went out with friends this weekend and I wore my "dream" pair of designer jeans that I bought months ago just to look at hanging up in my closet to motivate myself to keep losing! I got several compliments too! I got that tip off the message board, and I recommend that too! Now, I need another motivational article of clothing!

I am thinking about joining MRC. I have several friends that have done the program and look great! Can anyone tell me if aspartame is one of the ingredients in the protein drink.

LizzieLee - The boxes I have clearly say "NO ASPARTAME".

Vacation is ending soon and we'll head back home. We won't actually WI again until a week from Wednesday, but Hubby thinks we've lost more than 10lbs since we left (how he knows...i have no clue). We've been walking more than 4 miles each day and have stuck on program, so we'll just see. Welcome to the newbies and congrats for all the losses I've read about!

Lola48 - has she tried the grape concentrate yet? Thats the only one I really like. Hubby likes the orange concentrate too. Hope that helps.

My husband and I started pre-conditioning yesterday and we had both already lost 2 pounds since the Friday before. Probably water weight, but it's encouraging. It's nice that we're doing this together for the support and I don't have to cook 2 dinners. The plan is to lose 47 pounds by November 19th. Hope all goes well. Your posts are inspirational.

Lola48 I liked the grape in the begining to but I have found some favorites. Lemon, Orange and Pink Lemonade. Some ideas to give her some variety.

The Orange I use with my breakfast and cottage cheese, 5 ice cubes and 4-6 oz of water all blended in my mini blender. I have cinn toast with that.

Lemon I blend with my frozen strwbwerries and 4-6 oz of diet cream soda. Yummy!

Pink lemonade I have for in between meals. Sometimes with just the water but on hot days I add ice and blend again in mini blender. Kind of a Italian ice.

Keep trying until you find your favs. My center has an exchange basket so if I buy some I don't like I can trade packets of others in the basket.

And finally, Welcome to you and others who have found us. I think this is a great support for me.

I'm so glad I found you gals, I had found the old thread on a web search and was disappointed to see it was ended. I tried MRC two years ago and didn't lose much weight but did lose a lot of inches -- I think it's the supplements that made the inch loss. And, Glory B, I had a flat belly again and slimmer hips! I haven't gained that many lbs now but it's all in my mid section so nothing fits. I sold or gave away all my tight 14s and bought an entire new wardrobe last fall when we took a trip. It's fairly easy to fudge with summer things, elastic waists etc, but come cooler weather if I don't lost this, I'll literally have nothing to wear

I'm thinking of seeing if they have a short term plan for not too much money. I have all the info, cookbook etc, but would sure like to be able to purchase the supplements again. I'm attending an important workshop on September 9th, and I thought sure I could lose it. But nothing works for more than 3 lbs then I just stay even or gain a lb back. So discouraging! I think how hard can it be to lose 10bs, but it isn't happening. I know my age isn't helping, 65 this fall, but no matter what they say, I don't want to let it keep creeping up!

Oh, Lizziezlee, they use Sucralose, which I think what what Splenda is, not Aspartame.
