Default Ricotta v. Cottage

I see a lot of recipes that call for RF or FF cottage cheese (little cheesecakes, smoothies, etc.). However, I hate any type of cottage cheese. Can I use RF or FF ricotta cheese instead?

Sure sunlit! The different texture might alter the consistency of some of the dishes... but I've used Ricotta in lieu of cottage cheese in smoothies and don't notice any difference
