Beans/Legumes Question

  • In phase one, it says to start with 1/3 to 1/2 cup.
When can I increase the quantity and what's the upper limit?

Now that I'm back on the beach, I'm realizing a few mistakes I've been doing like having more than 1/2 a cup of beans, not having veggies with every meal and drinking more than 2 servings of regular coffee.

Do you think I should stay one more week on phase 1, because apparently this week is a trial and error one?
  • Those are not major mistakes at all! See how you are at the end of two weeks and then move gradually into Phase II.
  • I don't think that the book specifies an upper limit of beans. My guess is that 1/3 - 1/2 cup is considered a portion of beans regardless of what phase you are on.

I agree with Ruth that the "mistakes" you list don't sound like a big deal. It would be a much bigger problem if you were eating things you weren't supposed to have like sugar and white flour than not always eating every single thing that they say you should have. Also I'm not really convinced that caffine inhibits weight loss, though I wouldn't advise anyone to drink more because it really just is my personal opinion.
  • hi guys,

What do you think..... is it a very big istake if instead 30 nuts i'll have lets say- 40?
I've been on the 1st phase for one week now - just the beginer of a SBD
  • Hi Grizzly.. I would stay with the limit recommended on Phase 1 for nuts.. While they are nutritious they are very high in calories. And folks have stated that it seems their weight loss stalls when they over indulge in nuts.
Try some roasted chickpeas, they have a nutty flavor
