I am planning to start the South Beach Diet with my Mom tomorrow (we have to do a grocery shop!), but we are both lactose intolerant.
Since many of the snacks and some of the meals are based around dairy products, does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone done this who is lactose intolerant and had success?
I can eat some cheese - goats milk and sheeps milk, and drink lactose-free milk, so I am not at a total loss. I can also eat lactose-lowered yogurt - but it is mixed with fruit in a cup which seems to be a no-no on Phase 1.

There are lots of other things besides dairy that can be used as snacks. Check out the Recipe section for roasted chick peas and things like hummus with veggies. Soy based products are great - they even make cheese.
