She wasn't born at home as I'd planned, but she
was a successful VBA2C. (Vaginal birth after 2 caesarians.) After being in active labor for 36+ hours, I was just exhausted mentally & physically, so I went to the hospital for painkillers & augmentation. There were absolutely no complications, so in theory at least I could have stayed home. I am still a *huge* believer in homebirth--moreso, in fact, after the hideous "coaching" during the pushing stage--but I am also a believer in knowing your own limits.
I am just totally over the moon at having a third daughter, though I had started believing the total strangers who were telling me I must be having a boy because I was carrying low. So it was kind of funny when the doctor said "It's another girl!" and I was thinking "Huh! Imagine that!" even though I'd had no actual reason to expect a boy.
