Default 26 Week appt

This was a really good appt overall. My BP dropped back down (118/80); My glucose test, urine culture and CBC were all normal. I'm a little dehydrated (don't know how, if I drank anymore water, I'd grow gills on my neck!) HB was 146. I've gained 2 lbs in the last 4 weeks (7 overall, I think). So I don't have to start biweekly appts yet, and will go back in 4 weeks. We chatted a little about labor and delivery, and he gave me info on pre-term labor and what to do. It's weird to be discussing that stuff already, but I guess time is running out!

I will have to visit my regular (family) dr. My heart palpitations and arrhythmia have returned. Since she has all of my old test results and complete history, my OB wants me to follow up with her. I'm not too worried. I've experienced this before I was pg and I haven't had any serious symptoms like chest pain or shortness of breath.

So that's all for now. I like this type of appt.

I'm glad you had a good appointment, and everything is going well

Heart palpitations often happen in pregnancy anyway, but I hope it's just a minor thing.

Donna, I am 12 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I had heart palpitations before getting pregnant, usually associated with PMS or during my period, and had a stress ECHO back in january that showed everything was okay - I already knew I have a benign murmur but it's not serious at all. (wait that was redundant! )

Anyway, I was curious about your palps, have they been worse/more frequent since you've been pregnant, or just recently? I've noticed mine are very pronounced & more frequent in the past few weeks. The OB was not concerned, just said it is due to increasing blood in my body that I notice them more. I'm interested to hear what your family doctor says about it. It is a scary thing even when we're told it's no big deal! I always get scared for a just a second or two when they happen.

So happy to hear all your other tests came out good!

HoosierHeather, I noticed an increase in the frequency and intensity about 3 weeks ago (around 24 weeks). I had testing done about a year ago and everything looked fine. Like you said, it's probably just due to the increased blood volume. I agree - a little scary when your heart starts pounding hard, even when you're resting. I'll post an update after my dr visit, but I'm guessing she won't be too worried about it either.
