July/August Preggos

Hey all,
It looks like we never started a July thread, so I'll start an end of July/August thread.

I hope all of our pregnant ladies are doing well!

I'm starting to get more uncomfortable. Baby has moved head down into my pelvis and wiggles a lot, it can be pretty painful sometimes. I'm just about 34 weeks, not too much longer! I'm at that point where I'm ready not to be pregnant anymore but not quite ready to have a baby yet, it's probably a good thing I've got a few more weeks. :)

mom4life 07-25-2010 06:48 PM

Elijah Matthew, was born on July 23rd at 1:37am. He was 7 lbs, 10 oz & 20 inches long. It was my shortest labor.....6.5 hrs from start to finish. it was a dry birth, ended not wanting the water birth after all.
My midwife has had me on bed rest due to excessive bleeding. I feel a lot better this afternoon though.

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

CoolMom75 07-25-2010 09:58 PM

Congratulations Rachel!!! Sounds like a great birth. Sorry about the bleeding...hopefully that will taper off. Take it easy!

That is great news, congratulations on your son! He shares a birthday with my second daughter who just turned two :)

That is a FAST birth as well, I am glad you're already feeling better and getting more mobile.

Gale02 07-26-2010 08:13 PM

Congratulations Rachel!!

mom4life 07-27-2010 06:24 AM

Thank you everyone :)
I pushed him out so fast (2 quick pushes during the same contraction) that I didn't tear in the usual spots but ended up with a minor tear on my labia. I didn't find this out till yesterday when my midwife came for a visit. She asked how I was feeling and I told her I still felt swollen from the stitches, thats when she told me where I tore. Weird I had no clue you could tear there. Did some googling and found out it can be due to a quick delivery. So I guess if I hadn't pushed him out so fast I wouldn't have torn. :(

AbbySinthe 07-27-2010 12:43 PM

Gale, sorry to hear you're feeling uncomfortable. :( Are you working?

Wow, congrats Rachel! Glad the bleeding has stopped & you've started to regain your strength. :)

I'm kind of new to this section/thread. I've only been posting here & there. But looking forward to being a little more active & meeting all of you ladies. I'm 4 months pregnant with my first and just had a checkup this morning. My little guy's heart is pounding away at 155 bpm and I'm just starting to feel little nudges, especially after I've eaten something. We found out last week we're having a boy. I had to have an emergency ultrasound because of some unexpected (and definitely unwanted) bleeding but everything turned out just fine. And the bonus was some new pics of baby and got to find out the gender 5 weeks early! :D

I'm super excited to see how everyone is doing/growing in the coming months! And can't wait to see the impending baby pics :) Have a fabulous day, ladies

mom4life 07-27-2010 04:46 PM

Abbysinthe-so happy your little guy is doing well. Yes, bleeding is never welcomed when you're expecting. I had some bleeding in this pregnancy and I was freaking out but everything turned out fine....obviously. :)

Gale02 07-27-2010 08:47 PM

abbysinthe - No, I don't work, I'm a SAHM to my first son (20 months). I should say I don't leave the house to work ;). Chasing a toddler around while 8.5 months pregnant is certainly work in my book, lol!

AbbySinthe 07-28-2010 07:35 AM

Gale - That's harder work than what I get paid to do!!! I can't imagine having to chase around a toddler now & I'm only 4 months! God Bless & Great job! xoxo

guamvixen 07-28-2010 09:35 AM

I found out I'm having a GIRL! We already picked the name, and so far everything seems to be on plan! I'm just experiencing some uncomfortable growing pains, but it comes with the territory. Congrats to those who have met their little bundles of joy! A part of me can't wait, but then there's that part that can! ;) I'll be 20 weeks on Monday. ALmost half way there and it amazes me how fast time flies!

AbbySinthe 07-29-2010 07:26 AM

guamvixen - so exciting!! I'm so happy for you! You're only 4 weeks ahead of me so thanks for the heads up on the growing pains. It seems like this week my belly has really started to stretch. It just seems like the weeks are flying by! Congrats!! xoxo

I just finished a diaper cake for my good friend having her first baby (she's about 3 weeks behind me). I'm kinda sad we don't get baby showers for second babies! It's purely selfish; I don't need anything since I just had a boy 20 months ago and this one is a boy, but there's sure some cute stuff out there! :o :)

CoolMom75 07-31-2010 05:24 PM

Gale, this is my fourth and I still want to have a celebration. I don't need stuff but just having my friends over, food, etc. I know they are making stuff for my baby too which is so sweet. We love to knit and stuff so its a good excuse. I'd throw one for you! lol

zenor77 08-03-2010 12:59 AM

I see nothing wrong with having a celebration for 2nd babies (or 3rd, 4th, etc.) Just don't call it a shower.

Dh and I are in the process of moving right now and I'm wiped! I'm not very much help either! Most of the moving will be done tomorrow and I'm going to work instead, since I can't really do anything. I feel like I should be helping more. It's frustrating. Thankfully my MIL and BIL came out to help.

Sorry I'm late mom4life, congrats on your little one (well, he's not tooo little).

Gale02 08-13-2010 02:21 PM

I'm starting to get close! I have a friend who decided to throw me a last minute "pamper the mommy" shower, so we're hoping baby doesn't make his appearance before the 21st, or ON the 21st. I'm not due until the 7th, so I don't think there's much to worry about (knock on wood.) :)

Baby has moved even further down, something I didn't think was possible unless I was giving birth. I feel like he's going to fall out every time I stand up. Very painful on my pelvis, especially when I try to sleep ("try" being the operative word.) I know I won't get much sleep when he's here at first, but I'm looking forward to being able to sleep on my stomach again and am even looking forward to 2 solid hours of sleep at a time. I'm up about every half hour or so right now. :(

Enough of my complaining! How's everyone doing?

Gale - Enjoy your shower. I'll be praying baby does not show up early! Sorry to hear you're uncomfortable. :( Hope your little guy has eased up a little on you. I just saw that belly/back brace thing at toys r us over the weekend. Do you think something like that might alleviate the pressure?

I'm 19 weeks today & doing pretty good. Just had my first migraine of the pregnancy and I'm praying it's my last. I've been getting them very sporadically for as long as I can remember (4-6 times a year or less) and they always go away with 1 Imitrex or Treximet but now that I'm pregnant I can't take that anymore. I see the dr. in 1 week for our big u/s so I'll see if there's anything else that I can take. Because the dark cold room just doesn't work for me. I was down for the count all day yesterday. Thankfully, it's backed off & I'm at work today.

How's everyone else? Have a fabulous day! xoxo :D

CoolMom75 08-19-2010 07:16 PM

I was going to forget an U/S this time around but decided to have one and make sure all the organs look okay. We had it today and I got to see my sweet baby doing flips. We stayed strong and did NOT find out the gender. woot!

I still have to wait for the report but I think everything looked good, I hope. :)

boots 08-19-2010 08:20 PM

I can't believe you didn't find out the gender!

I LOVE finding out the gender so I have months of shopping without having to drag a new baby out with me! (and yellow and green get old fast to me!)

My brother and his wife NEVER find out the gender though. Completely don't understand that. But, to each his own.

My little girl didn't give up her gender for sure until one week before her due date and we had an ultrasound to estimate weight (it was over 1 lb off though, fail!) They were able to tell us for sure haha! On the previous ultra sound at 5 months she kept her legs crossed and wouldn't open regardless of wiggling or pushing on the belly on my part. Stubborn and modest little lady!

CoolMom75 08-19-2010 09:37 PM

Oh I love gender neutral stuff anyway. I've been knitting baby clothes and I think they are cuter than just yellows and greens;)

Zoe, I totally want one of those jumpers!! Are you for hire? :)

southernbelle102 08-20-2010 12:29 AM

Oh my goodness! Coolmom - do you sell your outfits or booties? If so, please pm me. I LOVE them!

bananapancakes 08-20-2010 02:41 AM

Coolmom: Those jumpers and booties are sooooooooo cute! I'd absolutely put those on my child, if I were pregnant. :P You should have a store on Etsy, if you don't already! :)

CoolMom75 08-20-2010 12:13 PM

Thank you! I knit incredibly slow so don't knit to sell. I am working on a sleep sack now and will be making little hats to match the rompers. Can't wait to see baby in them!

zenor77 08-20-2010 02:13 PM

Zoe~ We didn't find out the gender either! I'm looking forward to the surprise. I love the stuff you are knitting! I crochet and all I've made is a sweater. For some reason, I've been on more of a sewing kick lately.

Gale~ Enjoy your shower!

I think the baby turned head down this week. All of the sudden I have to run to the bathroom more and I'm feeling hiccups down below and kicks near my ribcage. My midwife won't be checking to be sure until 36 weeks though and since this is my first, I'm not certain.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Gale02 08-20-2010 02:16 PM

Zenor, it always feels so weird to me when baby gets the hiccups after they turn. I'm feeling baby's hiccups in my nether regions these days, pretty funny! And, this kid is like my first one was, gets the hiccups at least twice a day.

Those ARE beautiful!

haha! yeah I knit like a snail. I've only ever knitted those 100% cotton washcloths and maybe only like 3 of them once a year because my patience.....is not that great!

I can crochet like speedracer though! LOL!

Although I feel guilty, I've crocheted baby blankets for my first two kids and not my last one. So I have to do one for him sometime before he's old enough to realize it!

CoolMom75 08-20-2010 04:12 PM

Yay for surprises, zenor! I can't wait for the report after baby comes. I wish I could sew better. I did manage a little cloth book from one of those pre-printed books on fabric at the fabric store.

The 6 year old wants me to make this cape from a knitting pattern he saw but I'm thinking I'd rather figure out something on the sewing machine and save time;) or better yet: fleece. lol

We used to use pillow cases with clothespins!

Gale02 08-20-2010 05:40 PM

I'm getting excited about my shower tomorrow! Silly, I know, since this isn't my first baby... but it's going to be really fun to spend time with all of my friends. My in laws are even driving in for it, it'll be really good to see them. I'm glad they'll get to spend some time with Caleb before the baby arrives, he just loves them!

And, DH is having a bbq for all of the husbands while the shower is going on... he's pretty stoked about that. It's rare that we spend time with a bunch of people, this is a great excuse for it! :)

Arctic Mama 08-20-2010 08:24 PM

Have fun at your shower! It sounds like a great day is planned for every member of the family

CoolMom75 08-21-2010 02:08 AM

Have a great party, Gale!

Gale02 08-23-2010 07:56 PM

The shower was great fun! We got a bunch of money to put toward our double jogger and people made us some completely beautiful things. I got 3 handmade baby blankets and a handmade quilt, along with a beautiful cross stitch to put in baby's room.

It was really nice to get together with all of my girl friends for a couple of hours, good times. :)

CoolMom75 08-24-2010 12:51 AM

That sounds so nice, Gale! Hand crafted gifts are the best. :)

Gale02 08-24-2010 02:45 PM

I got a pedicure today... ahhhh. :) AND, while I was gone hubby cleaned up the house! Talk about a good morning.

GirlyGirl 08-26-2010 05:10 PM

I have my first baby shower on Sunday, and I am so excited! Gonna get a mani and pedi on Saturday, and try to pamper myself. :)

CoolMom75 08-26-2010 11:30 PM

Sounds like a great weekend of pampering, Girly! Enjoy and be sure and let us know how the shower goes.
