I see nothing wrong with having a celebration for 2nd babies (or 3rd, 4th, etc.) Just don't call it a shower.

Dh and I are in the process of moving right now and I'm wiped! I'm not very much help either! Most of the moving will be done tomorrow and I'm going to work instead, since I can't really do anything. I feel like I should be helping more. It's frustrating. Thankfully my MIL and BIL came out to help.

My midwife has had me on bed rest due to excessive bleeding. I feel a lot better this afternoon though.

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

Sorry I'm late mom4life, congrats on your little one (well, he's not tooo little).

I'm starting to get close! I have a friend who decided to throw me a last minute "pamper the mommy" shower, so we're hoping baby doesn't make his appearance before the 21st, or ON the 21st. I'm not due until the 7th, so I don't think there's much to worry about (knock on wood.) :)

Baby has moved even further down, something I didn't think was possible unless I was giving birth. I feel like he's going to fall out every time I stand up. Very painful on my pelvis, especially when I try to sleep ("try" being the operative word.) I know I won't get much sleep when he's here at first, but I'm looking forward to being able to sleep on my stomach again and am even looking forward to 2 solid hours of sleep at a time. I'm up about every half hour or so right now. :(

Enough of my complaining! How's everyone doing?

Gale - Enjoy your shower. I'll be praying baby does not show up early! Sorry to hear you're uncomfortable. :( Hope your little guy has eased up a little on you. I just saw that belly/back brace thing at toys r us over the weekend. Do you think something like that might alleviate the pressure?

I'm 19 weeks today & doing pretty good. Just had my first migraine of the pregnancy and I'm praying it's my last. I've been getting them very sporadically for as long as I can remember (4-6 times a year or less) and they always go away with 1 Imitrex or Treximet but now that I'm pregnant I can't take that anymore. I see the dr. in 1 week for our big u/s so I'll see if there's anything else that I can take. Because the dark cold room just doesn't work for me. I was down for the count all day yesterday. Thankfully, it's backed off & I'm at work today.

How's everyone else? Have a fabulous day! xoxo :D

I was going to forget an U/S this time around but decided to have one and make sure all the organs look okay. We had it today and I got to see my sweet baby doing flips. We stayed strong and did NOT find out the gender. woot!

I still have to wait for the report but I think everything looked good, I hope. :)

I can't believe you didn't find out the gender!

I LOVE finding out the gender so I have months of shopping without having to drag a new baby out with me! (and yellow and green get old fast to me!)

My brother and his wife NEVER find out the gender though. Completely don't understand that. But, to each his own.

My little girl didn't give up her gender for sure until one week before her due date and we had an ultrasound to estimate weight (it was over 1 lb off though, fail!) They were able to tell us for sure haha! On the previous ultra sound at 5 months she kept her legs crossed and wouldn't open regardless of wiggling or pushing on the belly on my part. Stubborn and modest little lady!

Oh I love gender neutral stuff anyway. I've been knitting baby clothes and I think they are cuter than just yellows and greens;)

Zoe, I totally want one of those jumpers!! Are you for hire? :)

southernbelle102 08-20-2010 12:29 AM

Oh my goodness! Coolmom - do you sell your outfits or booties? If so, please pm me. I LOVE them!

bananapancakes 08-20-2010 02:41 AM

Coolmom: Those jumpers and booties are sooooooooo cute! I'd absolutely put those on my child, if I were pregnant. :P You should have a store on Etsy, if you don't already! :)

CoolMom75 08-20-2010 12:13 PM

Thank you! I knit incredibly slow so don't knit to sell. I am working on a sleep sack now and will be making little hats to match the rompers. Can't wait to see baby in them!

zenor77 08-20-2010 02:13 PM

Zoe~ We didn't find out the gender either! I'm looking forward to the surprise. I love the stuff you are knitting! I crochet and all I've made is a sweater. For some reason, I've been on more of a sewing kick lately.

Gale~ Enjoy your shower!

I think the baby turned head down this week. All of the sudden I have to run to the bathroom more and I'm feeling hiccups down below and kicks near my ribcage. My midwife won't be checking to be sure until 36 weeks though and since this is my first, I'm not certain.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Gale02 08-20-2010 02:16 PM

Zenor, it always feels so weird to me when baby gets the hiccups after they turn. I'm feeling baby's hiccups in my nether regions these days, pretty funny! And, this kid is like my first one was, gets the hiccups at least twice a day.

Those ARE beautiful!

haha! yeah I knit like a snail. I've only ever knitted those 100% cotton washcloths and maybe only like 3 of them once a year because my patience.....is not that great!

I can crochet like speedracer though! LOL!

Although I feel guilty, I've crocheted baby blankets for my first two kids and not my last one. So I have to do one for him sometime before he's old enough to realize it!
