April Preggos

Started off this week with preterm labor .. again :( this time they had to use magnesium to stop the contractions.. im already 1cm And im on bed rest for the rest of my pregnancy ..hopefully he stays in for a month or 2 more

Gale02 04-03-2010 10:46 PM

Praying for you jahjah! I had that happen with my first, it's no fun at all. Find some good TV shows to watch and cross your legs! ;)

mom4life 04-04-2010 04:20 PM

take it easy

kestrel 04-06-2010 07:46 PM

I hope he stays put! I had preterm labor at 29 weeks with my 1st pregnancy, spent a week in the hospital on mag sulfate and the rest of the pregnancy on bedrest and terbutaline. Luckily DS stayed in full term.

Just hanging out here, letting the weeks pass by.

Gale02 04-07-2010 01:43 PM

I finally had a burst of energy today and my house is looking fabulous! It's so relaxing when the housework is done, makes it easier to do everything else.

touchmytoes 04-07-2010 03:58 PM

hello ladies, another scan today dating at my original dates that i thought which is great and puts me forward 4 days..

weight is up and down but defo have a pot now, bought a swim suit today really quite a sexy one and given the new sized boobies..it really does make me look and feel better! having an organic spray tan on friday too before we go...

hope you are all well, jahjah..hang in there...

mom4life 04-07-2010 08:09 PM

nausea has reared its ugly head in again. This is the first time its come this soon, I'm used to not getting it again till way later in the pregnancy. Baby has started kicking more often. This little guy gets the hiccups more often as well. LOL

zenor77 04-08-2010 05:18 PM

jahjah~ I hope he stays in there. Take it easy.

touchmytoes~ HAve a great vacation!

I'm so glad to be in the 2nd trimester. My energy level is slowly getting better. I don't need to nap on my lunch hour anymore! :) I still don't look pregnant yet. Just pudgy. I can't wait until that changes.

jahjah1223 04-09-2010 03:50 PM

I think I'm in the nesting phase and it sucks so much that I can't flip the house upside down and clean!!

Arctic Mama 04-16-2010 03:15 PM

Things have been uneventful here, except for some migraines and nausea.

My last appointment at 15 weeks was two days ago and the baby sounded great, my blood pressure was 100/61, and my weight gain was about what I'd expect for having gotten back from a 2 week vacation just 8 hours earlier!

I was 221 when I weighed right after stepping off the plane, 219 the next morning, 216 on Thursday and 215 today :). Considering I was 212 before the vacation I'm prett happy with the numbers now that the salt is gone and the swelling from flying and driving has gone down.

I'm focusing on getting my walking in again, and did get 3 miles in yesterday. Here's to hoping for a repeat today.

aangel22 04-19-2010 09:42 PM

I've been terrible at keeping up on here! Baby's doing well. I'm gaining way too much weight though. I just started getting terrible heartburn. It started Saturday and has really affected me. I have never had it this bad! It hurts so bad when I breathe and trying to sleep is even worse. I have been eating tums and drinking milk but it is helping. I think I am going to call my dr tomorrow and see if there is anything else I could do!
I was able to skip last Friday's appt because the previous week I was only 1 cm so my dr wasn't too concerned. We'll find out if I'm any more this Friday. Less than 3 weeks and I still have so much to do! I need to clean up this place before the baby gets here. More importantly, I need to get all baby things ready! Time is flying so fast with this pregnancy. :(

I hope everyone else is doing well! Jahjah, I hope things are okay with you and your little one will stay put for a while!

CoolMom75 04-20-2010 01:28 AM

I guess I can join in here! Just 6 weeks with baby #4. I was hoping to have a few more months of weightloss before +HPT but apparently the little guys had some kind of preservative and lived 7 days lolol!

This will be my first pregnancy starting out overweight. In the past I start thin and gain 80 pounds..but this last time I gain sans pregnancy :o.

But I had been working out 5 days a week and CC'ing for two full months prior to getting pregnant so I'm hoping I can keep with it and even lose a little more. I know that sounds taboo but I've got a lot of reserve. We'll see how it goes.

I recognize the name Zenor. Are you the one from calorie counters a long time ago who moved to Seattle? loves wine? :D Congrats on your pregnancy!

mom4life 04-20-2010 09:53 AM

Congratulations Coolmom75!!

So far I'm still feeling great. dh got a job yesterday so now we're trying to work out the insurance thing and my midwife. The insurance won't start till June 1st so I need to find out what my midwife suggests we do. I know she's in network with the insurance, its the insurance we had when I had my last child and she delivered him. The last appt for this month is the 29th. I forget since I'm this far along if it stays at a once a month visits or if it picks up to every two weeks. Don't know but I'll find out soon.
This pregnancy still feels like its going at a snail pace. I feel like I've been pregnant forever. LOL

jahjah1223 04-20-2010 12:51 PM

I know how you feel I feel like I've been pregnant for years this time around!

mrsaugie 04-20-2010 03:49 PM

hi everyone I cannot believe i just ate 2/3 of a pack of oreos :( Just really had to get that off my chest.

Artic--good to see you back

Coolmom-- congrats

mom4life 04-21-2010 10:04 AM

mrsauge  We all have our weaknesses.

My latest craving has been ice cream. We have Braums here and I've already done my calorie count on one scoop of ice cream, so I feel safe to give into it almost every evening this week. Plus my family is enjoying this craving as well. ;) I know I could save money by buying it at the store but I know I wouldn't be able to stop at one cup of ice cream.

jahjah1223 04-21-2010 11:09 PM

Still better than the 3 slices of pizza I just ate lol

Gale02 04-22-2010 12:37 AM

I had a Butterfingers and a glass of milk for dinner.

sacha 04-22-2010 01:27 PM

I found the cravings to be absolutely horrific in 1st & 2nd trimester. Now that I'm approaching the end of 3rd trimester, they are gone.

CoolMom75 04-22-2010 06:13 PM

Holy crap on a cracker m/s hit hard yesterday, with a bad bad headache and nausea. I was in bed for nearly 24 hours and couldn't even keep a popsicle down. Suddenly I feel better! It must have been like a migraine or something. Still no appetite but at least not throwing up, thank goodness.

It was kind of nice to hop on the scale and see 185, even though I know it's not real. lolol! Also I missed my first exercise class in two months today. That was sad. I almost tried to drag myself there anyway. But I'll make it tomorrow and all will be well. I just hope that headache doesn't come back.

I noticed the same thing but they have come back for one more round for the last month. Yes that's right one month form today is my due date. :D

aangel22 04-23-2010 04:56 PM

Had a dr appt today, baby is doing great. He is really active! It actually hurts most of the day, much more than my first two pregnancies. I am a lot lighter than I was with the other two also, so maybe that has something to do with it?

2 weeks left! I'm getting really nervous now. I have so much to get done, it isn't even funny. :(

jahjah1223 04-24-2010 09:31 AM

You are so lucky!!! I'm also 30 pounds lighter than my past pregnancies and the kicking is really painfull this time around

mom4life 04-24-2010 05:34 PM

I've noticed the same thing too since I'm much light this time around. I feel his kicks and the smallest movement so much easier then with my others. I can still wear my wedding ring, something I couldn't do this far along. I think with my others I had to take it off at around my 4th month.
I haven't developed a waddle yet...yay! Though from my calculations I think I'll be close to the 40 lb mark by the end, which is so much better then the 60+ I normally gain.

touchmytoes 04-25-2010 01:16 PM

hiya, back from hols..nightmare with the volcano going off but home now.
had a scan whilst out there and saw the little one bouncing around and doing flips etc..wow!
BUT! although i dont think that i ate that much ive put on a total of 6 lbs so far this trimester...is that OK? im terrified of having no control..that puts me up to 146lbs..i know its not alot but its happened very quickly!

Gale02 04-25-2010 11:13 PM

We get to find out tomorrow morning whether we're having a boy or a girl (assuming baby cooperates, of course!) :D

aangel22 04-26-2010 08:59 AM

mom4life: Depending on what time of the day it is, my wedding ring is still a bit loose. I always had to take it off by now, but I'm still wearing it. :) I have definitely developed a waddle. I didn't notice how bad it is until yesterday when I was at a friend's house. They have stepping stones and they aren't really close together. Usually it wouldn't be a problem, I have long legs and take long strides, but I could barely stretch far enough to make each step. I just walked beside it. :) I am definitely getting slower, but I can still run after my 19 month old if he is getting into trouble. ;)

One of my friends made me an awesome diaper cake. *I was trying to put the picture up, but it was sharing her whole facebook photo album and I don't feel right doing that. The cake has diapers, bibs, toys, washclothes, etc. It is so neat. :)

mom4life 04-26-2010 09:46 AM

The diaper cake sounds awesome! that was so nice of her to make that for you. :)
Yup for some reason I test taking it off when my finger is swollen. But then during the middle of the day its very loose.
I've noticed some waddling but its only when I've woken up wrong or I get round ligament pain, that's when I'm walking slower because of the pain. When I'm fine I still walk at my original speed. I was in pain yesterday and I did start thinking I was waddling but then I clued in on the pain. I couldn't finish my walk on the treadmill because of the pain. :(
I did a spa night with my 3 yo on Saturday. I had such a hard time giving myself a Pedi. LOL

nikkic718 04-26-2010 04:55 PM

hi ladies!! My name is Nikki and Im new to this forum, not new to the site but have not been on in awhile. Im 14 weeks prego with my first and super excited!!!! I was on a weight loss journey when I found out the exciting but terrifying news lol. Since being pregnant I actually have not gained any weight!! :carrot:

I do have a question to see if any of you have experienced this.........Since being over weight I have a "upper tummy" and a "lower tummy" lol my "upper" is beginning to pop out first.........is this normal?? I know it takes a lot longer for bigger girls to show but there is def a difference between today and amonth ago lol and i havent gained anything. Anyone have any answers for me????:D

Gale02 04-26-2010 08:26 PM

We're having another BOY!! :D I'm super excited, I have such fun with my first.

There was nothing shy about this kid, he just stuck his parts out there for all of us to see. That's how a gender ultrasound is supposed to go, no questions. :)

CoolMom75 04-26-2010 11:49 PM

congrats Gale! Your boys will be best buds!

Welcome Nikki! I hear ya on the "top belly" situation. I think because my uterus is swollen enough now it makes my chub sit up higher instead of lying low like usual.

I'm having the constant nausea still. Scared my hubby by wanting taco bell and ice cream tonight. He was horrified I'm going to backslide in my healthy eating/exercising and go nuts like I have during previous pregnancies.

I hope not! I'm still calorie counting everything and just needed a cheat night.

CoolMom75 04-27-2010 02:46 AM

Well it wasn't pretty after I added it all up. 2600 cal day when I laid in bed most of it. Hitting the gym for my exercise class tomorrow even with the m/s.

jahjah1223 04-27-2010 09:22 AM

Congrats gale! It almost seems like we're all having boys!

jahjah1223 04-27-2010 09:24 AM

Congrats Nikki! I didn't show till 24 weeks!

mom4life 04-27-2010 09:40 AM

I'm a part of a moms group and everyone's (8 preggo moms) having boys. must be something in the water. LOL

**had to correct this, there's 8 of us in the group that are pregnant. :)

CoolMom75 04-27-2010 11:44 PM

I hope not! I'm hoping this time will be girl. I'll get over it though if it's a fourth boy. Hehe

mom4life 04-28-2010 07:28 AM

I was so hoping for a girl. I even had the full name picked out didn't even think about choosing a boys name. So when we went for the U/S, I told the tech not to tell us till the end but he did a quick scan and I saw it but hoped it was something else. Then at the end he went back to that shot and asked dh what it looked like and I knew I was right. LOL
Its our last and he'll be 1 1/2 yrs younger then our #4 so that will be nice. I just wanted another girl for my dd2 who's 3 and who will be the only girl (my oldest dd1 is 20 yo), no matter what I'm excited. I thought of trying again for another girl but I'd rather stop and just enjoy my kids. :)

CoolMom75 04-28-2010 06:00 PM

I'm going with a midwife/homebirth this time and not sure I'll even have an u/s. That would make it easier to wait for a surprise. I'd like to be surprised at least one birth. I think it will be kinda fun to have check after the baby is born.

mom4life 04-28-2010 07:34 PM

I'm using the same midwife I used with my last pregnancy. Since we don't have midwives in my area I have to birth at her birth center. She does homebirths just not for my area.

Arctic Mama 04-28-2010 08:03 PM

Share the boy dust, ladies! My ultrasound is in a week and a half or so, and we really would like a son to add to our family, after two daughters. I am hopeful but everyone else seems to think we're having a girl. Oh well. I'll be happy regardless, as we'll have many more babies besides these three if we have our way, but I'd still like to get all the pressure off my back for a boy and be able to not stress about it for future pregnancies.

I am doing well so far, up about four pounds for the whole pregnancy now, at 17.5 weeks or so. I feel pretty good too, the only rhino I am struggling with is back pain and my chiropractor is helping with that.

I've been fine on calories but slacking on my exercise, I'm planning a walk this afternoon whether I feel like it or not!
