  • Well done on the nursing! I nursed all 3 of my children (2yrs+) and they are the most loving, accepting people I know.

As Saikin said, we women are all different and lose baby weight at our own rates. Some faster than others.
Keep at it though, there are so many benefits and like was said already, they are only little this once
Be proud of your breastpump when you go to work, you are doing such a wonderful job of taking care of your child. Kudos to you!
  • I have gained weight since the birth because I get so hungry while nursing. I don't have any strategies for curbing hunger. I need to figure out how to eat healthy or distract myself. This feels like such a big thing to get over a big road block. I really want to start losing so I can keep up with these kids.
  • Hi everyone, I'm still breastfeeding my 11 months old boy and only just started to feel a bit more in control around food. I'm not following any diet at the moment and I don't really want to to be honest. I decided to make healthier choices instead and it's working quite well. I stoped eating white pasta, rice and bread and go for brown wholemeal option, I use olive oil for cooking and grab a fruit instead of a chocolate bar when i feel like something sweet. Well, I know it sounds like common sense and easy to do but believe me it wasn't easy !!! First 7-8 months i just couldn't make any difference in my diet, i constantly craved carbs, sweets etc. Everytime I said that's it, I'll eat healty food this week didn't last more than 2-3 days. In fact I ended up binging everytime, after 2-3 days I would feel soooo hungry I used to go and eat whatever I could find in the fridge and cupboards. I was eating my 2 older kids leftovers without even thinking!! Any food in sight, I would eat it. But I kept trying again and again till it actually happened !!! I think it was something to do with my hormones and my body was not ready to reduce the calorie intake. Of course another reason must be that he is not on the boob constantly anymore like he used to. I have more energy now so I can exercise as well. The only problem i still have is the lack of sleep which makes me tired and wanna eat more but by swapping my snacks for healthier options I still managed to loose few ponds. I just have to keep going now !!! Yeah it takes longer to lose weight and definitely harder when breast feeding but I would never compromise on my baby's wellbeing for anything!! I wanna be slim, healthy and look good but there is nothing like hearing that happy noise your baby makes when feeding!! We'll look and feel good eventually, they will not be babies forever so we should enjoy our time with them while we can. We'll get there girls, don't give up.
  • I'm kind of middle of the road between all of you that have had trouble losing weight and those that dropped it easily. I dropped the pregnancy weight very easily but then again, I only gained 27 lbs b/c I was already about 20 lbs overweight when I got pregnant. However, now that I'm back at work, the weight loss has completely stopped. I haven't lost one single pound in the last 4 months, not one. Its frustrating beyond belief. My DD is 7 months old and I don't plan on stopping BF'ing until she's ready to wean herself.

I eat healthy, but like many of you have said, I can't seem to stay full when I try to control how much I eat. So, I eat until I start to feel full and snack in between if I start getting hungry. By the time I get home from work, I have no desire to exercise because I'm flat out tired. I've started trying to go the the gym in my office building over lunch but can't really get a good workout in and then clean up within an hour.

So, I feel both the joy over losing weight easily due to nursing and the frustration of not being able to lose weight at all. Having experienced both sides of the fence almost makes this lack of weight loss even harder!
