Exclamation Oh get *out* already!

I'm a week away from my due date. I've been having what's for the most part incredibly mild contractions since Saturday night. We went to Hard Rock Cafe Sat. night and I pigged out on hot wings hoping for the whole spicy food thing to work. I was having some good contractions by the time we left there, but they petered out.

We went to the zoo on Sunday. I was hoping a long walk would help, since I was having some contractions. No such luck. I did manage to fall over a piece of asphalt and get the joy of spending the next six freaking hours in the hospital being monitored in case of placental separation. So I know I'm having contractions, but I'm not feeling 90% of them.

Yesterday & today, same story. Mostly mild contractions with an occasional breathtaker. And no signs of actual active labor being imminent, much less birth.

I remember the last 2 weeks well. I was 10 days LATE for number 1, and both number 2 and 3 came on their due dates. I remember doing heavy gardening, moving furniture anything to put me into labor. Nope, always went into labor at 4 am in the morning while sleeping. lol The baby will be here really soon, not much more time now. {hugs}

Hint: Hot wings? They don't work. Neither did Ruby's hot and spicy buffalo tenders with extra jalopenos. Oh, and neither do walking, jumping jacks, or pinning an eviction notice to the belly button.

Quote:
EVICTION NOTICE
To Be Posted 30 Days Before Due Date
(Attach to Belly Button)

The current tenant has 30 days to gather his belongings and vacate the premises. After which he will be physically removed from the property. He is being evicted due to breech of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the front of the house, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the house were also made. Remodeling and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. Due to property damage caused by these unapproved renovations, there are now leaks in both the upper and lower levels of the home. Any further problems will result in immediate and forceful removal.
As a result, he was forceably removed from the premises 10 days late.

You have my total sympathy! Although I only went 1 day past my due date this time around, I was convinced she was going to come early and spent 3 weeks being frustrated. DS came 10 days after his due date and I was going bonkers by then.

Good luck with things getting going!

Well, since I had my last daughter a month early, I really wasn't expecting to go this long this time! I have tried every trick in the book short of taking castor oil. (Which I won't do because sometimes it makes the baby pass meconium.) I know from past experience that begging and pleading don't get the baby out any faster either.

My mom did the castor oil w/ me and said it didn't work, just gave her the runs.

It'll be here soon! I hate waiting. I wish we had a guarantee on this stuff, like with furniture delivery.

I'm due March 7th and praying it'll happen in February. No particular reason, just thinking well everyone says 37 weeks is the same as 40, right?! Why prolong and discomfort?

Glad to hear you were okay after your fall! How ironic would it be... to end up with a hospital birth anyway, and then what will you do with the pool?

I'll tell you, those contractions were scaring me. I was afraid they wouldn't want to let me leave! The last thing I wanted to have to do was fight my way out of a hospital in the midst of labor...but I know with being a VBAC there'd have been just way too many interventions.

My daughter was also late. But because this pregnancy was completely opposite in every aspect to that one, I "assumed" (albeit so incorrectly) that he'd come early. Teach me to make assumptions.

Red face vba2c in san antonio

Hi ladies,
I am trying to get a hold of GreatBigMonsterMomma, can anyone help me. I tried to send her a private message but it won't let me because I need to post at least 10 times and I am far from it. I just want to talk to her because she has had a vaginal birth after 2 c-sections and what makes it even better is that she is from my home town and I need all the help to find a doctor who will support me. I just had a failed vbac and now am determined to have another shot at it when time comes again. I know that I could do it but it is hard here in san antonio, tx to find that doctor who will let you. Thank you for all your help ladies.
