Default Ready to lose the baby weight!

Hi Everyone! This is my first time posting, I'm really excited to find a discussion that is dedicated to dieting while nursing (and preggers). I absolutely did not diet while I was pregnant, so when I weighed in at the hospital to have my son (now 6 weeks old awww!) I had gained 55 pounds! I have always been pretty small so NONE of my pre-preg clothes fit, and I'm afraid they never will!
I am nursing full time, but the weight isn't just "falling off" the way it did when I had my other kids (7 & 9 years ago).

I am looking forward to meeting you all and sharing and learning everything I can.

You can do it! I'm still nursing my toddler (baby #3 for us as well) and watching my calories at the same time. I eat when I'm hungry, but I try to eat healthy foods. My body is responding well so far. It's great!

Welcome aboard Glad to have you here.

Welcome! I am ready too and my baby is 2!!! It definitely gets harder to lose with each baby but we can do this. What plan are you on? Are you working out as well?

I was 22 when I had my first baby...and I lost the weight from having her in the first year and a half, and was at goal. With my second child, a couple of years later, it took longer-about 3 years total to get where I wanted to be.

My third baby (going to be 2 next month) was a surprise...we had not planned on having more kids, and the weight from him has been the hardest to get off. I am still trying! I have lost some of the weight, but it has been much slower, and requires more effort. I am 10 years older than I was when I was trying to lose from baby #1, and that paired with it being the third time around has taken it's toll.

I am still plugging along, though. I know that I will get to goal one day, whether it be 2 months from now, or 2 years from now...so I'll take it. I just can't get discouraged with trying to lose by a certain date, etc.

welcome yesyouarebeautiful! I'm not pregnant, nor am I nursing (or even have kids for that matter haha) but I noticed we're around the same height with close s/c/g weights. . .I have my goal set higher right now than what I think I would actually like to accomplish, I just don't want to look at a number that seems that daunting quite yet .

Good luck on your weightloss journey!!!

Your story sounds almost EXACTLY like what I'm going through now.

My #3 DS is now 7 weeks today (actually @ 8:37pm tonight, LOL) and I am at that point where I want to get into my size 4s again!! I gained A TON of weight this time, because of health conditions during my pregnancy and being on bed rest since May. I have a heart condition that surfaced during the pregnancy...and I also had PTL and was on weekly non stress tests. My DS came 5 weeks early -- and it was a stressful start (even though he was perfectly healthy from the beginning and a good weight -- 7lbs 5.5oz!) They said if he was a term baby, he would have weighed 12lbs!

Well, I have #1 DS - 7yr old...and I gained A TON with him too -- I was 22yrs old...and the weight didn't come off with him, because when he was 10mos old, I got pregnant with #2 DD. I never gained with her -- but, since I hadn't lost my previous weight, I still had an uphill battle.

I BFd all 3 kids (currently BFing -- hopefully for a year at least) and I worked out with Body For Life with DD -- worked well! I would recommend WW or BFL rather than a South Beach or Atkins...if you are BFing.

I am currently in a size 10-12 if I were to wear normal clothes. However, I don't want to buy anything much until I start losing. I have lost around 10lbs so far...and I can't wait to get back into my 4s and 6s. I'm 5'1" and my prepregnancy weight was around 125. I got up to 190 (approx) with this pregnancy! The first time I weighed myself I was 179.8 though...so, I guess I gained around 55lbs.

Nice to meet you all!
Sarah

i have a 7 month old gained 46lbs with him lost 36 of those lbs so far---and haven't done much but chase after him and carry him a lot--- so no matter what you gain most will go super quick---oh and i didnt really see much of a drop in the first few weeks---with me i've been standing on a set weight for a few weeks thinking im stuck there and then finding my clothes getting looser and looser--- i've already dropped from not fitting into anything but maternity to 16s---14s---11s and now 9s --- i started out at 7-8s and an occasional 5 when i was in my best shape of course--- ---so anyway---it will happen just give it time
