Default OT (a little) - getting period back after pregnancy

I'm exclusively nursing 6 month old twins and also nursing my 2 year old. Three days ago, I could have sworn I was going to start my period any minute. Kept feeling crampy, not terrible or anything, but nothing.

With my 2 year old, I unwisely began taking a POP at 6 weeks postpartum, which caused a lot of heavy bleeding immediately. Even though my doctor had told me to call right away if I had those symptoms, I was told that I was fine. My period started coming in regular cycles at 6 weeks, even though I EBF.

So, I don't know what it will be like to have my period return naturally. Could anyone advise?

Thanks!

I only BFed my first for two weeks, and my period returned six weeks after she was born. It came on pretty unexpectedly, although I felt off all day. I didn't BF my son at all, and after the normal postpartum bleeding stopped, I thought for about a month my period was coming. I had a lot of spotting and my moods were crazy. I finally got a real period two months later, and now they seem to be coming on a regular schedule.

I'm still BFing my 10.5 month old DD. I had my first PPAF at 12 weeks. It's been coming fairly regularly ever since. That's pretty amazing, since I didn't ovulate on my own prior to having her. In fact, it took clomid to get pregnant both times.

My supply tanked a bit the first PPAF for the first day. After that, I haven't noticed much of a dip with each period.

DS is 2 months old today and AF just started today as well. Why can't I be one of those lucky ladies who never get AF the whole time they BF?? Wierd, tho, I had no cramping or any other signs it was on the way - although maybe that had something to do with not getting that "let down" feeling the past few days, and then all of a sudden being engorged last night?? I had no idea that my cycle could affect my supply!

I bf my son exclusively for 6 months and finally got AF 2 weeks after we stopped. Hoping to be as lucky with this baby!

Ottoette, your daughter was born on my husband's birthday!

Anyhow...First time around AF returned at about 6 months--two months after I started solids. Second time it returned just before 12 months--four months after I started solids. Third time it started at 10 months--two months after I started solids.

It tends to take me by surprise, but I don't pay a heck of a lot of attention. Oddly, it's far more regular for me now that I'm breastfeeding than it ever was before I had kids.
