Well ladies, my May baby decided to make an early apperance!
Charles Merton arrived at 1:17 AM on Monday, 3/26. He weighed 5lb7oz and is 19 inches long. He's expected to be in the NICU for about 2 weeks (his lungs are immature).
The birth was crazy! Strong contractions started around 10pm. At 11 we decide to head to the hospital. We arrive at the hospital at midnight. I'm placed in triage for evaluation. I was 100% effaced, 4 cm with bulging bag of waters. While in triage, my water breaks and I feel the urge to push. They put me on the bed and begin to roll me towards the L&D room. On the way down the hall, I felt his head pop out, quickly followed by the rest of his body. The nurses didn't believe me when I told them he was out already until one lifted up the bedsheet and saw him lying there. We reached the "delivery" room where the pediatric staff was waiting for us (they're real fast). They took care of Charles while other nurses cleaned me up. He had a strong cry. DH cut the cord and I held him briefly before they took him to the NICU. Then I laid in the bed, pretty much in shock of what just happened. LOL
