Default Thyroid? Guggulbolic? Amour?

Hi, I am thinking of trying Guggulbolic by syntrax. I do feel cold most of the time. I guess I am low in thyroid. anyone tried syntrax Guggulbolic ? Any suggestion? IS it close to Ephedra? I am scared too.

I even do not know whether I posted in the right board or not, but I think that I really need help!

Hi, bbway!!

I would suggest talking to your doctor before you try anything over-the-counter to treat a low thyroid. Better to be safe than sorry.

You might want to post this over in the buyer beware thread and see what everyone has to say.

I did a search and here is what I found:

Description:
Guggulsterones have been shown in studies to drastically reduce cholesterol levels, improve acne conditions, and increase thyroid hormone levels (thus greatly increasing fat loss). While most other supplement companies use a solvent extracted low-potency guggul extract, Syntrax Innovations, Inc. uses a special high potency natural extract which conforms to all Ayurvedic criteria.

Uhhh if you suspect you have a thyroid disorder I would suggest you talk to your doctor about it. I'm a thyroid patient myself and I would never try anything without my doctors go ahead. I have never even heard of that product.

Hi bbway,

You know, a thyroid problem is very easy to deal with but you should have it medically evaluated - you need to have a blood test for your TTH, T3 and T4. I have an autoimmune disorder that affects my thyroid. Don't be scared - just go and get it tested and then treated.

Jenaya-

I was just curious what auto immune disease/disorder you have I also have one and now I wonder if mine affects my thyroid although everything I've read never said anything about it. I have pulmonary sarcoidosis and actually started out hyperthyroid and now I'm Hypothyroid because I had to have part of my thyroid removed because it was making too much hormone. Did you mean TSH instead of TTH?

Hi Michelle,

Yes, I did mean TSH, thanks for catching that. I have Graves Disease. I was hyper then went on drug therapy for two years and I was fortunate enough (despite many critics who said it would never happen) to reach remission. I have to be very careful with diet and exercise. I have the tendency to go hypo but when I am in balance, so are my hormones.
