  • Hi Octoberbride:

Just wanted to let you know that there is a professional hair care line called Nioxin. I'm not sure if it is available in the US, but it is fairly popular with the salons here in Canada. They have a full system for early stages of hair loss and a stronger formula for advanced stages of hair loss. They also have pills that you take. I don't have hair loss/thinning issues, but I do know of people who have used it and have stated that their hairstylists are commenting on the new growth within 1-2 months of starting to use it. Also, I heard metformin helps a little with the hair loss and that people who use metformin have experienced some relief shortly after starting.

    Good luck!

  • I was prescribed spiro when i was d/x with pcos almost 4years ago and it helped alot in the extra hair area. But then i stopped it since i started ttc. But now i am not ttc any longer till i drop 50 or 80lbs.. Not sure which one i am going to start the ttc @ again lol. But I am back on the spiro and i am noticing again that the hair on my chin is thinner and not as much growing back all that fast.
  • Does anybody know if its possible for your body to become USED to a medication and stop using it as effectively? For awhile I had noticed some nice hair-reduction from the spironolactone, but it seems to be coming bad as bad as ever.
