Noodles, I read that you were down with the flu - Hope you feel better soon!
PS- How did you ladies do in January? I was pretty frustrated, I lost about 1/2 of a pound. It wasn't a plateau, I didn't exercise and it SHOWS. It was too cold to be in the basement, so I passed up exercise most of the month. It is VERY important for those of us with Insulin Resistance to exercise! Here is a good article on exercise, Insulin Resistance, and Diabetes:
Yeah...Ol' Noodles here is sick. It sucks!!! But I'm glad that it waited until I got home. I was starting to feel sorta sick in California so I left a day early. Good thing I did!! Now I can Achoo! in the comfort of my own home. Lolol...Not to mention hubby turns into a great nurse when I'm sick.
Hope you feel better soon, Noodles! Here's a kooky idea for you: Theraflu popsicles: try it, you'll like it, lol!
Thanks for the article, Jennifer!
I'm doing o.k. We went out dancing on Wednesday night, had a couple of beers. That's my treat once a month! Then hit another music spot, unfortunately there was smoking, so after we left I had a minor asthma attack. Bummer. Got home and had to use my emergency inhaler, and I very rarely need that anymore. It's too bad most of the good dance places here allow smoking.
I've lost 9 pounds since Jan. 1, but I think that was a little too fast. I feel very tired, like I've drained the glycogen out of my muscles, and I think I'll just hold steady for a few days to recover. My mind wants to dance all night, but my body is grumbling that it's not 18 any more, lol!

Reason: forgot to mention stats
Oooo...Popsicles... That sounds good! Theraflu too!! Good combo! This crud sucks. I got a class tomorrow for my 2nd year certification so I better be feeling ½ way decient!!
Second Year as an official World Class Jump Rope Judge. Woohooo!! I'm re-certified and I can now judge all events and head judge!! Yippee!!! You have to re-certify yearly so they know you are keeping up to date with all of the routines. rule changes, and stuff in general. The first year you are limited in what you can do until you sorta "prove yourself". I did that and then some. Got the T-Shirt to prove it now. lolol!! I'll have hub take a pic of me at our next competition of me in action. Maybe I'll drop another 10 pounds by then.
I have a February accomplishment. I haven't lost weight this month, but I can now make it through the complete Taebo workout. (The original one from long ago)
Next up, Kathy Smith Kickboxing!
I am getting tired of the DVDs. same ol' routine over and over...I think I am going to sell them on EbaY and just go join the Gym with my friends. I have better motivation that way cause I dont want to let "them" down. Know what I mean? This doing it all alone stuff is getting boring and lonesome. :kicksfeet: LOL!
I like doing it alone, it is my ONLY time alone! Ahhhh, serenity. Any WATP suggestions? Do you do those? I need fat burner tapes. In 7 weeks, I'm basically the same, maybe a pound less. First 3 weeks I didn't exercise (cold in basement) and then I started Taebo in the living room. I haven't lost a thing. I want to do something that will last longer and get my calories burning, and then do kickboxing on alternating days.
I am a tae-bo/kickboxing junkie. Glad to see you enjoy it too! It just doesn't seem like exercise and man, talk about letting those pent up frustrations out!! I use the old tape too and I love it. A sweat like no other and the serotonin levels soar for hours afterwards.
I am doing okay. I realize that I have to exercise and I have to remain vigilant with my carb control or I can not lose weight. I am not on any specific diet but I eat lots of veggies/fruit, lean meat and whole grain foods in limited amounts.
Noodles, I agree, you are a very neat lady. Glad to here you have been re-certified and I look forward to the pictures. My great news is I got my hair cut and people remark continously how much weight I have lost. I don't have the heart to tell them I just look different because I have bangs now...lol...
Take Care,
I am being naive here but what is WATP mean? Sorry for the ignorance, just haven't seen that before.
Jenaya: you probably do look different, and just don't realize it! You're probably more sparkly and springy, and that shows just as much as weight loss.

Aww...Thanks!! I try to keep a variety in my life so I don't get bored...must be the Virgo in me. I am now going to become a level bronze Certified Bowling Coach. This way I can teach the kids on Saturdays. And who knows..maybe I will learn a thing or two too...
I just cut my hair so I got bangs again too!! Everyone goes, "Man, you look like you lost weight!" Pfft...I DID but that was before the hair cut!!!!!!! **slaps some people around** (I had a bad day.)
