Question Black Cohosh instead of Spiro?

Hi all,

I am currently taking BC pills, Metformin 1000/day, and Spironolactone 25/day. I also take Zoloft and oxazepam for generalized anxiety disorder. As a 25 year-old, I hate taking so many pills! In the past week, I decided to stop the Spiro. It was not helping the acne/hair growth, and I don't like that it has a black box warning with it. I have read about saw palmetto and black cohosh being good supplements to mimic what spiro does. I cannot take saw palmetto because it will interact with the zoloft. black cohosh seems to be a good option, but I wondered if anyone else takes it and can provide some input. I will, of course, consult my physician before I start to take this, and I normally would not have quit taking medication, but my doc only gave it to me because I complained about my acne, and the dose is so small it's pretty insignificant. Anyone have input? Discuss:
