Default Hair loss, regrowth after weight loss?

Hey ladies,
So I know one of the symptoms of PCOS is hair loss. Since a lot of you report a decrease or elimination of PCOS symptoms after weight loss, I'm curious if any of you have experienced hair re-growth (on the scalp) after losing weight?

Also, does anyone here have PCOS but still get their periods on a monthly basis, give or take one week? Is that possible?

I lost a lot of hair when I lost a lot of weight and this past year as I have regained some (ugh!) my hair has come in much thicker. You get the good with the bad, right. Some of my American friends have suggested that taking Biotin has been helpful on the hair front but I have never used it so I am not sure. I do use omega 3 + 6 fishoil capsules and do find that my skin and hair are better when I do.

I haven't been officially diagnosed with PCOS, but I do have quite a lot of the symptoms. I have always had a period (except when under extreme stress), and sometimes it's in regular 28-day cycles, and sometimes it stretches to 35-day cycles.

I had real difficulty conceiving, but successfully managed to have two sons after years of trying. I didn't fully ovulate every month. Once I stopped wanting to have more children, I stopped tracking my cycles. So now, in my late 40s, I'm still having a period, but it's sporadic in it's timing as well as duration and flow.

As for hair, I've always had a lot of it on my head, and a lot in all the wrong places too. But I have no more hair from my knees down. It just stopped growing. I don't believe it is genetically possible for Greek girls like me with PCOS to have problems with a lack of hair. Although, there was that time when I sported a head full of snakes and my ex wouldn't look at me...

My hair loss did not get better after weight loss. However, with omega 3s and 5000mcg of Biotin my hair does wonderfully. It grows in thick and healthy. If I stop taking these my hair begins to fall out again.
