Default Frustrated...

Well, this is my first blog. I was diagnosed the PCOS several years ago. In 5 yrs of marriage, we have not been able to have children and all the time people come up and asking me when we will. Last fall, I did the South Beach diet, but because I am so picky, it got frustrating. I got so tired of eating green beans and chicken. But, I lost 40lbs. I have only gained 12 of that back since going off. Because of the diet, I have had regular cycles for the past yr.
It has been a dream of mine to have children since I was a child. I would love to lose weight and have children. Any suggestions you have, I would love to hear. It is nice to know that other people are going through the same thing.
Has anyone with PCOS tried WW? Is South Beach the best way too?

I have not tried south beach. WW was a wash for me - because you can eat pretty much anything you want as long as you stay under your points it wasn't a great fit. I had no problem eating nothing but cake - hahaha!!

It took us 6 years to conceive (just had my baby 1.5 weeks ago). I was on met for a year before that & lost 70lbs. I think the metformin helped some with the weightloss but really it was more because of the amount of exercise I was doing & my diet. My diet was based on Precision Nutrition (website based) that my personal trainer suggested. Basically it is eating frequent, small, high protein, high veg meals. Very few carbs & usually restricted to immediately after working out.

Even with the weight loss & a return of more regular cycles I still had to use clomid to conceive. Have you been in contact with a fertility specialist? If not, I would suggest looking into it sooner rather than later. It can be a long process.
