Oh yes, yes, yes! I had extreme anxiety problems 10 years ago, at the height of my hormonal instability. I didn't understand, had no idea how to control it, and never had any idea that it could be hormonal. I went to a therapist and first learned that it wasn't going to kill me (that was after I wore a heart monitor for a month and still didn't believe the cardiologist) and the therapist taught me how to breathe and relax and 'push' the pressure out and get through it. To this day, I still breathe the pressure off my chest and eventually out of my toes.
My nurse practitioner recommends Valerian Root. (the namesake for Valium, but gentle and non addictive) Maybe you could ask your doctor if that works for you? But above all, I strongly suggest a counselor that you can just let it all out to. Somebody that is trained to help you with your specific problem. Second, come here and let it all out, everything that scares you or pressures you or overwhelms you. You are not alone!
