Smile PCOS and pregnancy

I was dx with PCOS about 3 years ago and am now pregnant. I heard somewhere that after pregnancy the PCOS subsides for a while, making it easier to lose weight. Has anyone here had experience with this?
TIA!

So last night when I couldn't sleep I took & bath & was flipping through a book I have on PCOS - just looking at the stuff relevant to pregnancy. And you know, it said that for some women after pregnancy they find their cycles become more regular. I've got my fingers crossed!

Nicoyaangel - I finally got pregnant after losing 70lbs & being on metformin for 1 year. We finally got in to see the fertility specialist & were delighted to have our first cycle on clomid & pregnyl take. I really feel the build up work to take the fertility drugs were key in making it work. I took the lowest dose possible.

Nicoyaangel- I did several rounds of clomid and I charted my cycles. The charting especially helped, because with the clomid I ovulated on day 19 - 5 days later than "average".

SephyFowl - The symptoms can get worse? I didn't know that. I must have the same book Lifeguard has because it says the symptoms can get better. I hope mine get better!

Default Clomid

That's what dr. Wants me to do is clomid. My insurance only covers half of infertility. Sucks! So before I put out the money for all that I want to lose the weight. I just hope when the time comes Clomid does work for me and my ovaries aren't too broken

I ovulated later on the clomid then expected as well.

We had to pay out of pocket for our treatments & the clomid really wasn't overly expensive. The appointments may be something else though - we're in Costa Rica so I'm certain that is cheaper here.

Found out today that just because of the pcos I may have no choice but to go with the ob for my birth (I want a natural, intervention free birth). I'm sooo disappointed. I feel pcos has robbed me of so many things - I wasn't expecting this.

Hi There!

I have PCOS and found my symptoms got much worse after having my son, and the weight never came off, I gained an extra 25 lbs actually. Hopefully this won't happen to you. Enjoy your pregnancy!!

I have had PCOS for about 12 years. After 4 years of trying to get pregnant, I lost some weight and managed to (surprisingly) get pregnant naturally (no drugs). I didn't gain much weight during the pregnancy although I did end up with toxemia and delivered at 36 weeks (I found out later that PCOS increases your risk of high blood pressure while preg). I lost all of the weight from baby within a few months and even got down below my pre-preg weight. I have been BFing so I haven't had regular periods but I have noticed in the last two months my PCOS symptoms have been returning and I have gained back about 25 lbs. Since I am still breastfeeding (10 months) I don't know whether to go on low carb now or wait until I am done (I would like to go 1 year).

During my first pregnancy, I actually lost weight when I was pregnant. But, slowly, I gained the weight back plus another 10lbs. My second pregnancy, I gained 25 lbs and I am having an extremely difficult time losing it. I think my symptoms are a little worse this time around.
