Hi kittiesmom,
I am new here too and honestly can't answer your question. I took Met for 3 months before getting pregnant via IVF at varying levels and never saw a change in weight loss. I got massive headaches and extreme fatigue with it, so bad that I stopped exercising and gained 10 lbs <sigh> I don't think I gave Met enough time or had a high enough dosage (no more than 1000 mg) to see a difference. I just started taking Yasmin bcps today and really hope that helps. I gained alot while pg and haven't lost much in the past 5 months since giving birth. Breastfeeding doesn't work for me as a weightloss tool.
Sorry for rambling and making this about me. From what I've read, PCOS is a frustrating and difficult condition to treat. It seems like it's a lot of trial and error b/c what works for you won't necessarily work for me. It's hard b/c I'm trying to keep up hope while trying different diets, drugs, strategies, etc. It takes a long time to wait and see if something is going to work too. Not seeing results is enough to make anyone nuts.
Anyway, I hope the Met works for you!!! What is your dosage at right now? My dr told me that when I start back taking it (after I'm done breastfeeding), he'll put me on 1500 mg.
