Hi I'm resa...I wandered over from the soulcycters forum and saw that they have a support thread here!
I have PCOS diagnosed 2006...it stinks...can't lose weight, never got periods, my hair is thinning and oh god the list goes on. Although since I've started dieting I havn't lost weight but I've gained my period! lol...metformin helps too though I guess. Anyway...looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hello! I, too, have PCOS. I was diagnosed in 2000 when we were trying to get pregnant. I am currently taking metformin and I am using the Metabolic Research Center diet to lose weight. So far, it is working, but I've only been on MRC for about a week and a half. We will see how it goes. I have always had trouble losing weight, trouble with my periods and various other great PCOS problems! It is nice to know that there are others out there struggling with the same problems!

Also dx with PCOS. I am also on the Metabolic Research Center diet and have seen amazing results. (Hi Mommato3!) Anything low carb is great for PCOSers. On Metformin (1000 mg a day) and doing great.

Hi MSTeacher! Wow! We have a lot in common-both teacher, both with PCOS, both using MRC to lose weight. Cool! I love having someone who is going through the same types of things as me!

Hello,
I'm a 32 year old mommy to 3.5 year old twins. I wasn't diagnosed until 23 when trying to get pregnant. A twenty pound weight loss and six months after starting glucophage I was pregnant. I've been back on the glucophage 1000mg for about a year and have had a 34 pound weight loss and periods go from 120+ to 32 days. Currently counting calories and working out as the kids allow.

Can you ladies please tell me more about the MRC diet? Where can I get info on it? I'm currently on the South Beach Diet...it works but if something better is out there i'd like to give it a shot. Thanks!

MRC=Metabolic Research Center. It is a diet program only offered in some states. The website is emetabolic dot com. You can head over to our thread (take X under General diet plans and questions) to learn more, as well. Basically, it is low carb, high lean protein, and they have protein supplements that you drink to make you burn fat. It's medically focused - they take your BP at every weigh-in. Check it out - it's been great for me!
