Talking 6 pounds gone forever!!

I'm so proud I'm bursting!! Stepped on the scale today, lost 6 pounds since I started 2 weeks ago. Not much by some standards, but a lot for me! Starting the Atkins program was easy, I was pretty much low-carbing all week anyway. Just have to be a little firmer with myself now. How's everyone else doing?

Talking Thanks!!

Started the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution last Saturday, and am doing okay. I would say great, but I have had a rough 2 days and am not eating on program. In all I have lost 10 pounds, but I put back 2. I plan to start over tomorrow. How's everything going for you?

Things are going okay with me. I am still researching a program. I've tried Atkins in the past but it is too restrictive for me.

How's it going for you? Have you gotten back on program? Keep me updated on your progress. I can use the motivation.

The problem is that Atkins makes you crash. L/Cing needs to be done slowly and not so low. Going too low will give you the shakes and dizzy spells which then gives you the craving to eat high carbed foods then you have to start all over again. You dont need to follow any book or programs. Its simple!

I posted this elsewhere:

You should be gradually lowcarbing. Getting less and less every 2 to 3 days until you reach the lowest you should go. The cravings will subside after you have "detoxed". But it should be done gradually. YOu also should be taking the gluc on highcarbed foods. Like eat a sandwich then take your pill. Between pills, low carb to a safe level. Go too low and you will go into ketosis which will give you the shakes and dizzy spells.

You should be eating 5 little meals a day. Start at 80grams a day for a few days, gradually getting down to 50grams a day. This does not include your veggies and fruits, you can eat as much as you want excluding high glucose foods such as watermellon.

I suggest for at least 3 days, eat regular, not worrying about low carbing. Once your body has gotten back to that, then start at 80grams (total carbs) plus as much fruit and veggies then work down to 50grams plus as much F/V as you want (total carbs) a day. This will slowly adjust your body and the cravings should subside. 80grams for about 3 days, then 70 grams 3 days, then 60, then 50. That would be a total of 9 days before you have reached your goal. CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THIS FIRST.

Do not binge eat when you are shakey/dizzy. Eat slow and healthy. This will allow you to fill up and get the food you need without over eating. Skim milk will also do a quick-fix. So drink 4 ounces of milk to get you at base, then eat. Milk is not a substitute for food however, but to be drunk with your meal. It will just give you time to get the shakes gone while you prepare your meal.

Talking Just an update, everyone!

So far so good on low carb. I've worked up to around 50-60 carbs a day, and you wouldn't believe what's happening to my body. The acne is clearing up a little every day, the hair on my head has stopped falling out, while on my body is thinning, my hemoglobin is back in the normal range for the 1st time in years, and my periods are coming once a month and lasting 5 days, just like clockwork. That's not even counting the pounds I've lost (13 so far) which to me was the most important. This other great stuff is just a bonus, but I'm so glad!!

Hope you're all doing well, also!
