Thumbs up Rogaine Do's & Dont's

Dos and Don'ts for Getting the Most out of Rogaine:

DO apply exactly 1 mL of Rogaine from the applicator, twice a day, every day. (Each bottle should last about one month, if used as directed.) Using less or using it less often will simply lessen your chances of getting results. Conversely, using more or using it more often won't make it work any faster.

DO apply your styling aid and style your hair as you normally would after you've waited for Rogaine to soak into your scalp (about 20 minutes after applying). Just apply Women's Rogaine and then put on your makeup & brush your teeth, and by the time that's done, you're ready for your hair gel or spray. This way, you don't waste a minute!

DO wash your hair every day with a gentle volumizing shampoo to effectively clean the scalp and eliminate the build-up of conditioners and oils, which can prevent Rogaine from revitalizing your hair follicles. You can also use a mild dandruff shampoo twice a week to help keep your scalp healthy.

DO develop the habit of using Rogaine twice a day, every day, to get the most benefit.

DO use a wide-tooth comb when combing wet or damp hair, to avoid hair breakage.

DO consider buying Rogaine in triple packs, which provide you with three months of treatment in a single purchase. This adds to your convenience and savings. Remember, Rogaine costs less than a dollar a day.

DO be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after applying Rogaine to avoid getting it on your face or in your eyes.

DON'T use Rogaine on days that you have your hair permed, colored, or treated with chemicals, in order to avoid irritation of your scalp.

DON'T shampoo or swim for four hours after applying Rogaine, to allow it to be fully absorbed by your scalp.

DON'T try to make up for missed applications of Rogaine. If you miss one day, resume your twice-daily schedule the next day.

DON'T be alarmed if you experience a temporary increase in hair loss during the first few weeks of treatment. The increased shedding may occur as part of the hair growth cycle. New growth will follow the brief shedding period.
