Should I try it on my own?
I have been on Nutrisystem for 1 week now and lost 8 pounds. that makes me happy, but I really don't think the food is that special or that great, especially the breakfasts. I am a diabetic and try to keep away from carbs. I think their breakfast offerings are horrible in particular. All sweet offerings with relatively high carbs. If it was up to me, I'd have a small omelet with some veggies and cheese. All they offer are muffins, bars and sweet cereals. I think I could do as good of a job buying the food myself. And the cost! Over $265 dollars a month is a lot of money when you aren't wealthy.
I am torn between sticking with this for two months (over $500!) since I did lose so much the first week, and trying to buy healthy prepared meals myself and making my own breakfasts. Maybe I shouldn't mess with a good thing since I've been successful? I wish I could just stay on the diet for one month and then go it myself, but they stick you with a big cancellation penalty if you cancel after 14 days.
Anyone try to shop for their own comparable foods and were successful continuing to lose weight?
