For someone experienced with overeaters anonymous.

what type of person would benefit the most from OA? I mean... is there a criteria for those that get involved?

The only requirement for membership into OA is the desire to lose weight...

Actually, the only requirement for OA membership is the DESIRE to stop eating compulsively...Losing weight in the program is not a requirement. We have many members who are anorexics and bulemics(spelling?) who do NOT need or want to lose weight, they want to know how to stop eating compulsively! I have been going to OA for over 4 years now and have had so much spiritual and emotional recovery and a bonus of a 40 lbs weight loss, which is the physical part of the program. Give the program a chance, it has changed MY life!

Thanks so much to the two of you for your responses to my question. I know absolutely nothing about OA and just had no idea if I would benefit from it or not.
