Default looking for a russian speaking sponsor

I'm Ania, an overeater from Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

Here in Russia the OA fellowship is very weak, we have a lot of questions with no answer, my sponsor Mary Anna has the biggest time of sobriety from food in Saint-Petersburg, but has no sponsor, no person with more experience, then she has, no one she could rely on. She doesn't speak foreign languages, so she's looking for a russian-speaking sponsor with some years of "clean" time, who could share her experience via mail or skype.

We know that the fellowship in USA is strong, and we suppose, there are many russian-speaking people in USA, Israel and Germany, maybe there are some in the fellowship.

What shall we do?!

Thanx in advance, please, contact me via mail: [email protected] or skype: alice_and_caterpillar!!!

What about trying open AA meetings (women's if possible). The principles are the same and alot of women alcaholics also have food issues (that addictive personality)

thanx, Tommy, she's an alcoholic as well and has more then a decade of clean time, but is still having difficulties when dealing with food addiction, as it is quite specific.

Perhaps if she mentions her need in a meeting she will get some feedback from others in her position and they can form their own group. I do understand the difference. Is she able to get OA literature in Russian? The book called "Overeaters Anonymous" is filled with individual stories like the part of the Big Book after the first 164 pages. Best of luck.
