So, for my "lifestlye change" I've found that counting calories is the way to go for me. With that said, I usually eat a FF Yoplait Yogurt as a snack. Looking on the nutrition facts label, its only 100 calories. Great, low cal choice, that is flavorful (especially the white chocolate strawberry), or is it? I noticed on the ingredients that HFCS is the 3rd ingredient listed. Doesn't HFCS spike your blood sugar? And if it does, is it worth the trade off for a low calorie snack? Or should I omit this yogurt??
I know that everyone says to stay away from HFCS, but I eat FF yoplait daily. I can't tell you if it spikes your blood sugar or not, but my FIL is diabetic and he eats it daily as well (it is actually lower in calories than their lowfat version because it is a combo of HFCS and aspartame).
I count calories as well, and FF yoplait being 100 calories fits right in with my 1200-1400 calories per day. The yogurt is usually my mid morning snack and it gets me through til lunch.
Hey thanks everyone for your replies. I think I'm going to continue to eat the yogurt. I figure its one of the only, if not the only things in my diet that contains HFCS. So, it can't be hurting me in any way, especially since it fits in my calorie range quite nicely! Thank you!
