Default what vitamins should I be taking?

I recently started taking vitamin B-12 and have been taking a multi-vitamin as well. What are some other vitamins and supplements that I should be taking?

Just wanted to get everyone's .02.

Thanks!

Take Vit D, maybe twice as much as the RDA, according to new research, 1000 mg of calcium and iron...I track food on fitday and it tells you what vitamins and minerals you need to supplement to meet minimums. It was shocking for me to see just how low my intake was of iron, especially. The book You, the Owners Manual has good info about vitamins, minerals and supplements.

I don't think this answers ur question, but maybe it will help others. I usually hate taking vitamins b/c of the way they taste...., so I take the Disney Gummy Bears Multivitamin. It taste just like regular candy gummies!

the direction says it's for both children and adults, and i usually look forward to my 2 multivitamins a day because it's delicious. hehe!

I'll probably be in the minority here. I take calcium, but generally no other vitamins/supplements. I try to get my nutrients from food. I know I'm not 100% successful there, but I try.

My reasons? First, it's unclear whether we really absorb the nutrients in the vitamins, but it seems when we eat the nutrients in food, we are more successful at actually absorbing them. Second, there's starting to be more research that indicates they don't really help us, and might even cause some health problems (at least in some groups).
