modkittn - I know it's hard to see the numbers on the scale go up, but your body is doing amazing work right now! Even when you're sitting still, it's still using a tremendous amount of energy to make that beautiful babe.

And yes, there are time (usually after weeks and weeks of no contact) that I think being a submariner's wife sucks :o but we should hopefully have only one more patrol, then 3 years of shore duty and then he finally hits 20 and retires. We have three kids - a 4 year old, a 2 year old and a 2 month old.

I had my official weigh in this morning, 208 lbs. :carrot: It looks like I'm out of the 2-teens and heading toward onederland, slowly but surely. :D

modkittn 10-07-2008 09:56 AM

Hey ladies. So no appointment with the specialist today. They want to get some information from my hematologist/oncologist before they have me in. So it probably won't be for a couple of weeks. I'm disappointed because I was hoping to hear the heartbeat again today! :(

sunshower 10-07-2008 11:43 AM

Hi everyone. Work has been so crazy for me. I've been thinking about you all often but I just haven't had time to come around. I have been getting up at 5 AM to be out the door at 6. Get to work at 6:30 and stay here--even through lunch--until 7 PM. Get the bus back home, go to the gym, make dinner and CRASH. Plus the last thing I want to do when I get home is get online! Heh.

I see everyone's been doing okay. Mod, don't beat yourself up over the gain. The baby needs to eat! Has anyone heard from Jaime? Yesterday was her sister's birthday, right?

Sounds like the rest of you are doing well. I've been stagnant for 2 weeks. An exact 0 each time I get on the scale on Thursday. I'm hoping for a loss this week before I go crazy.

KimL1214 10-08-2008 11:20 AM

So I'm new... kinda. I re-joined weight watchers last week and weighed in at 258. My first big weigh in (loss or gain weigh in) is tonight and I'm excited, but worried at the same time. I've stayed away from the scale all week and managed to stick within my points almost every day (couple of slip ups, but better then I was doing before I started WW). I made cheesy chicken shells last night (a WW recipe) and absolutely love them, although I did have to add a bit more sauce (which, yes, adjusted the points).
Curious question... I based my points off from my para job at the school and said that I do some sitting and some walking, since I work as a para 35 hours a week... but I also work as a waitress 20 hours a week... did I choose the right option? I do sit a lot at school, but also walk a lot... All I do is walk while waitressing...

modkittn 10-08-2008 12:18 PM

:welcome2: KimL!

sunshower - No news from Jaime yet. Maybe the baby camne and that is why she is MIA? Don't worry about your non-loss! That amount of work you are doing is crazy. And besides, maintaining is better than gaining anyway right?!

Well ladies, last night was another night of me crashing after work and not getting any exercise in. Making a baby is exhausting work! Today at lunch I went for a nice walk though. Oh and last night after I got out of the bathtub, DH said "Well I can really tell now that you are pregnant!" :D

ladybugnessa 10-08-2008 12:32 PM

i weigh in tonite gals.

hi kim i'm a bad chick i tend to not post daily here..

holding my own...

suitejudyblueeyes 10-08-2008 01:16 PM

Baby came! I'm still at my sister's house, but I will be leaving tonight to return to Charlottesville. We have a healthy baby boy in the family, he came in at 9 lbs 1.5 oz, and has a head circumference in the 90th percentile for newborns  ...My poor sister, right? :p

ladybugnessa 10-08-2008 01:23 PM

Vaginal delivery? OUCH

big boy! glad all is well!

shrinkinglizzy 10-08-2008 02:30 PM

Kestrel -- yay for approaching onederland!!

Leeanne -- I've been totally stagnant, too. I actually kind of think my scale is a liar, as it tells me the same thing all day, no matter what.

Kim -- I'm struggling with the same questions as you about waitressing. I have mine set to the same thing, as I only waitress 3 shifts (about 20 hours) a week. I'll probably leave it set as is, since it's not as though I'm doing ridiculous labor at any point, and if I remember correctly, that was the next option up as far as activity level. Anyway, good luck and welcome!!

Mod -- yeah, I would imagine that creating a whole new life is kind of tiring. I suppose that's why you need that seventh day for rest, huh?

Nessa -- You post wonderfully when you do post, no "bad chicks" here!

Jaime -- CONGRATS!! How wonderful. Did you get the blanket (sweater? Hat? Booties?) finished in time?

-------------------------

Not much to report here. Weight's the same, I'm sort of getting sick, and planning on getting in some walking today. I just made some awesome white bean soup with roasted garlic and spinach in an attempt to quell the cold symptoms, but as I write this I'm choking on the black pepper that I added! And, I have no idea about the points. Grrrr. Still, it tastes delicious and is exactly what I was hoping for!

By the way, where's Faerie at??

Hello everyone

sunshower: I looked at your progress pictures and wow! they blew me away...you have done amazing work! Can I ask how long it took you to lose that much weight? that really is amazing how hard you have worked...you must be really proud! I would be!

Kim: cheese and shells always sound good to me!

mod: yes, being pregnant is tiring! I have never been pregnant but I could imagine it must be! I just watched sex and the city where miranda became pregnant and she had a boy and carrie says "imagine: you are growing a tiny penis inside of you!",....sorry if that is ultra random! hahaha

suite: YAY! the baby finally came! I can't wait until my sister has kids!

shrinking: your soup sounds sooooo good...I always want to make soup but I never do. I have made that 0pt WW soup before...but yours sounds so much better!

~ I've definitely been doing better this week...I guess seeing those 20's inching back really woke me out of my forget it all phase. I walked three times already this week..and I haven't binged at all. I haven't really had any food or money so it has been pretty easy not to binge! I have been too self-conscious to go on walks by myself so I have been taking my boyfriend and best friend...but tomorrow I will force myself to go alone if I have to! I hate being in the 220's again!!! It's so horrible that I let myself gain back almost half of the weight that I lost! But I can lose it again...which is good...

ladybugnessa 10-09-2008 08:42 AM

good morning!

no weigh in last night
meeting was cancelled the regular lecturer was not there and the sub did not have a key to the building... oh well..

went home ate cereal. GAWD I love cereal. I have to stop eating it. makes me crave it more and more.

shrinkinglizzy 10-09-2008 09:46 AM

Nessa -- I love cereal, too!! I like it the way others like ice cream, by which I mean I think I eat it when I'm really just thirsty. I mean, I love it for breakfast, but when I'm binging on it or craving it, I feel fairly certain that I really just need water. And I think others do the same with ice cream. Anyway, sorry for the disappointing meeting, that is a pain!

Vday -- :cheer: for getting back on track! Glad you are able to pull your boyfriend and best friend in with you. As for the soup, it was delish but totally NOT 0 points!!

------------------------------------

Still fighting this cold, took nighttime meds last night and now I'm so groggy. I'm going to try and get my day started a little bit, though. The scale was down a pound this morning, I hope it lasts till Monday's WI this time!!

ladybugnessa 10-09-2008 10:09 AM

i don't eat it for breakfast (i have oatmeal) I eat it as a snack. or dinner.

KimL1214 10-09-2008 12:32 PM

Weigh in last night, down 2.8 even with TOM starting yesterday... pretty surprised and excited. I invested in the basic kit as I am an avid journaler and love being able to look back at stuff. We talked about soups last night in our meeting, so I grabbed a can of Progresso Light Southwestern Veggie this morning for lunch (one of my favorites, I love spice). On certain days I have a hard time staying within my points and other days I have a hard time even getting close to my points (as in I end up 7 or 8 points away). Anyone else have this problem?

Thank you everyone for the welcome!!!

VDAYBABY~ My bf claimed he didn't like the shells, but I noticed when I got up this morning that the remaining 6 were all gone, got a good laugh out of that one...

vdaybaby 10-09-2008 06:17 PM

Nessa: I LOVE cereal too! I am seriously addicted to it...it's definitely one of my weaknesses when it comes to food...I like to eat it for breakfast and snacks

shrinking: thanks for the support girl...colds suck!

kim: That's so funny about your boyfriend! Men are like that huh? My boyfriend does that too! He just doesn't want to admit that it's good! Oh and I love those 0 pt soups. I buy them for days when I have hardly any points left for dinner.

Well I just finished doing the Jillian Michaels DVD "30 day shred". I had done it before but I got bored with it. But I just remembered that it was On Demand. It's REALLY windy outside right now so instead of going for a walk, I just did that. On Demand is so awesome...it has like 15 different DVD's to choose from.
It's cold today and I LOVE it!

I thought I was the only one. I don't know why though. lol I love cereal. I'll have to start eating eggs or something that makes me more full instead of cereal. I'll just eat and eat and eat that 'til the box is empty.

modkittn 10-10-2008 08:56 AM

OK I have seriously been gaining too much weight. My thighs feel fat. My size 10's are starting to get tight around my legs. It needs to stop! I think the problem was that I would gag whenever I even THOUGHT about eating vegetables for quite a few weeks there. Well my nausea is almost pretty much gone so I cut up a pepper and some carrots today for snacks and I didn't get sick to my stomach when I was cutting them up :) so I think I will be OK to eat them. I'm also going to buy salad veggies tonight (woohoo) and start eating healthier and more balanced meals. I'm hoping that I can just maintain where I am for a few weeks at least. I don't want to lose the weight, just want to sort of "even out" the gaining. I don't mind gaining weight for the baby, but I want it to be healthy!

So DH and I were talking last night. We were going to re-finish half of our basement and move some stuff down there to have a big room for the baby. Well, we went over our finances and it just isn't going to happen. We have a smaller bedroom that needs some work (paint, new floor, heating vent) and we are going to do that room instead and put the baby in that room. Its nursery size, and then in a few years when we move the baby to the larger room we will have the money to re-do the basement. It WAS finished when we bought the house, but then we found out we have mice nesting in the walls and so we un-finished it. We found out how the mice were getting in and sealed that up. We were mice free last winter, so I felt Ok with re-finishing the room. Oh well :(

Jaime - Congrats on your new little nephew!

lizzy - Do you have a recipe for that white bean soup? It sounds yummy!

vdaybaby - I think finances are hard on everyone right now :( Way to go on the walking! I need to do more of that.

nessa - Wow, I would have been a little annoyed if I went to my meeting and then there was no meeting like that! Did you end up making it to another one?

KimL - :bravo: on your loss!

Joslynn - I had a bad run in with cereal yesterday. I have been so hungry in the morning. I ate a bowl of cereal and was still hungry. So I had another bowl. BAD IDEA! I cannot eat large amounts of food in one sitting anymore. No more room! I felt miserable until later in the afternoon!
