Default How can this be?

I weighed myself today and it says I gained 5.6 pounds. Now I know I had one day this week where I was not good and last night I ate a taco salad (within my points) so maybe I'm retaining? I am also suppose to start on Monday. I feel like this is the point I get to everytime I try to lose this weight and give up. I know I can't but how do I keep going. I think it might be time for me to say goodbye to the scale until the biggest loser challenge starts.

Lisa - Don't be discouraged! Some of it could be water retention. Some of it could be evil scale revenge. I'm not sure, but I do know that if this is the point that you usually get to and then give up, you're going to have to keep going.

Focus on today and only today. Get your water in (to help flush out the extra). Lean towards the fruits & veg when eating points (if possible). Get in a little extra moving. Feel good about the progress you've made and wonderful things you've done for your body at the end of the day.

You have a great idea to put the scale aside for the time being, as well. In the long run, it may help train the brain that this isn't just about weight. It's about wellbeing.

hugs and sympathy, I know exactly how you feel.

It CANNOT be real weight, unless you really ate 19,600 extra calories this week!

That doesn't make it less disappointing, I know. If you're brave enough to let go the scales, do it. For myself, I need to see the daily fluctuations, if I only weighed once a week, and hit a blip up, I'd be crushed. If I can see it fluctuating day by day, I know it's not my 'fault'.

Weigh or don't way whatever - hang on tight! Don't roll back, you Can break thru this!!!!! (Plus TOM due is making you feel despondent anyway, kick Tom into touch!)

TOM can do evil things to the scale. Most people see gains a few days before TOM starts - I know I do - but they will go away in a matter of days. It's usually just water retention. Do not let this get you down, you seriously did not gain 5 lbs of fat in one week! Keep your chin up and keep moving forward!

Ok I feel better. I haven't been able to exercise all week due to heel spurs so I treated myself to a trip to a store that fits you and helps find the perfect shoe. Made me feel better. Thanks ladies.
