What are you looking forward to?

This may sound silly, but I am looking forward to being able to tie my shoes without having to hitch my foot up on my knee by grabbing onto the bottom of my pants!

I want to be able to bend over while I am sitting without it being difficult to breath! LOL

What are you looking forward to?

pipernoswiper 05-18-2008 10:52 PM

i'im looking forward to not being a prisoner in my own home. oh yeah and i wanna be hot lol..............

Sunnya 05-18-2008 10:55 PM

I'm looking forward to fitting again in my old old clothes...

Lovely 05-18-2008 11:14 PM

I'm looking forward to ... not having to worry about the size of seats, not having to worry about weight limits... getting to shop in normal stores... and this is incredibly shallow of me... but I'm tired of being the biggest person in the room all the time! So, no more of that! :D

Chey 05-18-2008 11:23 PM

Getting out of the house ---- check
Being HOT  ;) ---- check
Fitting into my old clothes again ---- check Adding to that.. I wanna be able to buy some new ones too! :)

Fairie - yep, yep, yep and definitely know that feeling about being the biggest person in the room! Our oldest son got married last year and I was trying on mother of the groom stuff that I had to order over the net - (of course they didn't have my size in the stores) and was trying the clothes on in our bathroom. I tried this one outfit on and looked in the mirror and just cried! Hubby came in to see why I was taking so long.. and I told him that I didn't want to be the fat one anymore. Took me about a year to decide that I still didn't want that and I started WW.

vdaybaby 05-18-2008 11:37 PM

...sitting down in class without having a huge stomach pudge staring back at me

...being able to wear a skirt without worrying about whether my cellulite is showing

...being able to jog for more than 5 minutes without getting winded or cramped

...being at a healthy weight

I'm so there with you!! Those are exactly what I'm looking forward to

luckymommy 05-19-2008 12:01 AM

I'm looking forward to getting dressed in the morning and rather than looking for the most acceptable thing to wear or the thing that won't put me into agony (due to discomfort), to being able to find the very cutest outfit I could find! Also, I can't wait to be able to shop with my friends and buying cute stuff on sale, rather than acting like I don't feel like trying stuff on (knowing it won't fit) and not just looking at shoes or handbags! I also just love the feeling confident and not embarassed about how I look. I know this is all very shallow, but if it keeps me motivated, then why not? The truth is that I am motivated mostly by the feeling of control I have over my eating. I can't stand that out of control feeling that I can have with food. Sorry this got so long! There's lots more I look forward to, but I don't wanna bore anyone.

:)

pgray1229 05-19-2008 12:13 AM

Looking beautiful for my cousin's wedding....
Wearing those size 12s I want to get into so badly....
Not having to cover my upper arms all the time!!!!

utgirl09 05-19-2008 12:53 AM

I always think people judge me on my weight, which gives me a lack of confidence, makes me shy, and makes it hard for me to meet new people. When I know someone, I dont lack any confidence and can be me. I am looking forward to gaining confidence and being able to be me all the time, not just around the people I know. Also, I have a certain pair of pants that I would like to wear and a coat that I would like to wear. But mainly, I am looking forward to being healthy and fit.

aarron 05-19-2008 01:42 AM

Much of what everyone else has said.

I also want to get dressed without fear......of everything.
I want to learn to love myself again, rather than be my worst critic.
I want to show my children what healthy is and be a good example.
I want to love others, as I cannot love them the right way if I don't love myself.
I want to stop saying horrible things about myself as it hurts my husband.
I just want to be happy and this is one of the steps to making that happen.

Institches21 05-19-2008 11:22 AM

For alot of the reasons stated already, but I will repeat the biggy, not having to squeeze into airplane seats, keeping my fingers crossed that I could buckel the seatbelt, not have to worry if the only seat available is a middle seat.

I want to be able to look at my reflection in a mirror, and like what I see.

Faerie said it best, not being the biggest in the room, how self conscience it makes you feel.

Chey, I can go you one better, I would like to be able to drop down on one knee and tie my shoe lace then jump back up, and continue on my 3mile run. :D

Paintfancy 05-19-2008 12:42 PM

I am looking forward to being the person on the outside that I feel like on the inside and I'm looking forward to doing it for the rest of my life! :carrot:

kahnfv 05-19-2008 02:08 PM

Being able to wear my wedding rings again and not having to take blood pressure meds.

luvmyfam 05-19-2008 02:44 PM

Most of what everyone already said, PLUS...

#1: I want to stop turning to our 12 y/o to run after his 4 y/o sister when she takes off...because I know he can catch her quicker.

and #2: I want to be comfortable having my picture taken again, and stop having to hide behind everyone to be willing to be in a picture! I'll smile for pictures, then when I see them, I'm miserable because I see how fat I am in them!

AND #3: The blog title I used when I tried writing a blog here... I'm too young to feel this old!! I'm only 34...that's young! But I feel so tired so much of the time. BLAH.

Manick 05-19-2008 03:10 PM

Not feeling tired, and not being embarrassed to have my picture taken, that is the same for me! I do notice a tiny bit of a difference on the tiredness now that I've been exercising. I still hate seeing myself in photos these past 2 years. I use every excuse to get out of the frame if I can, and I am usually the one taking the pictures now.

freedomreins 05-19-2008 03:36 PM

I'm looking forward to liking myself in pictures too. I have always been camera shy because of my weight. Hated seeing that second chin!

 Yes, you did one up me!

Everyone... now - the next time you feel down, and don't feel successful - come back to this thread and re-read what you and everyone else posted. I know that with each and every small goal that I keep in my mind, I am going to put another 'what am I looking forward to'' item on my list. Instead of having a bikini clad model on my fridge (totally unrealistic) , I have my list. :)

Another "What am I looking forward to'' item...

I want to be able to buy a matching bra and panty set where the bra underwires aren't digging into my breasts and the panties aren't hidden under my belly!!!!

grneyedmustang 05-19-2008 08:11 PM

I'm looking forward to -

Being able to shop in the "normal folks" side of the store again.
Being able to fit the size 14s I bought the last time I lost weight. :^:
Being able to wear fitted tops without worrying about if my midsection makes me look like the michelin man.
Being able to wear a one piece swimsuit and not feel like a beached whale.
Being able to take pictures again and feel like I look good in the pictures.
Not being afraid to meet a guy in person that I've met online, due to the fear that he'll think I'm a fat pig and not be attracted to me.

This is one of the main things that made me want to lose weight too. I hated sitting down or leaning over and having rolls above my jeans. Yuck. They are definitely getting better, though, going away a bit, and I know yours will as well! :)

November2007 05-20-2008 09:16 AM

I love these posts, as I was reading them I so agreed with everyone and it is so exciting to think that I can solve these problems for myself.
I want to go to Disneyworld without the fear of just spending my time walking around because I can't fit into a ride.......I want to ride a rollercoaster!

Chey 05-20-2008 07:34 PM

I love these posts too November2007. As I read them, I think to myself.. "yeah, me too.." Yes, I want to be able to sit in a seat without looking for a double without having an armrest in the middle...

Lunula 07-03-2008 05:27 PM

I'm looking forward to being able to go into any store and find clothes that fit me & look good.

Including a nice pair of boots! :D

ifindhope 07-03-2008 08:02 PM

i'm looking forward to feeling GOOD about myself, mentally and physically.

and having more energy!!

also i'm looking forward to wearing a bikini and not feeling like people are wondering WHY i would ever wear a bikini.

AND wearing a tight fitting top and not constantly pulling it away from my belly.

a lot of it's kinda superficial but oh well.

Bloomer 07-03-2008 09:07 PM

Me too :) I also share almost all of these concerns. My top looking forward things are:

Being healthy
Having energy
Not having to worry that if I sit on it it will break :)

and most of all....

Not having "you MUST lose weight" at the top of my To Do list!

i'm looking forward to this too.

I'm looking forward to liking who i see in the mirror and not feeling like i'm embarrassing my fiancee when we hang out with his friends

Chey 07-04-2008 09:23 AM

Almost...............there.

If I had just 3 more inches in length to my arms, I could tie my shoes without hitching my feet up to my knees!

I have determined that by the time I will be able to wear fitted tops, the style will be such that I will look pregnant! LOL I went to buy a couple new tops because I have been floating in the ones I have and the style is that babydoll or high waisted. Tried a couple on and I looked pregnant!

philadelphiab 07-05-2008 08:00 AM

I am looking forward to:

Not being the biggest woman in the room...
Shopping in regular size stores (but I will miss the Avenue)...
Being the healthiest person in the room..
Looking younger than my age, rather than older...and
Yeah tying my shoes without hitching my foot up to my knees!

Thanks for this thread I love it!

philadelphiab 07-05-2008 08:05 AM

I thought of more

I am looking forward to:

Not being afraid to try something, sit somewhere, go somewhere because I am afraid that because of my weight and size I will fail or not fit.

And I forgot my biggest goal...to be thin enough to ride a burro down the grand canyon! goofey but true!

Jennie527 07-10-2008 11:16 AM

I am looking forward to:
Not being the "fat friend"
Not having to shop at fat girl stores
Having more energy to chase my children
Not being camera shy
Having self-confidence again
Bending over without the "fatty grunt"
Fitting into my skinny family
Being a role model for healthy living to my children
Wearing all the great clothes in my wardrobe that are too small
Giving away all of these GIANT clothes that I have been forced to acquire

Oh yes, and SHOPPING, SHOPPING, SHOPPING for cute clothes in smaller sizes!

GR8 2B48 07-12-2008 11:59 PM

I'm looking forward to the Dr. taking me off the rest of my medications as they have been reduced drastically due to current weight loss. I am also looking forward to being more self confident.

Chey 07-13-2008 12:28 AM

GR8 2B48 - that is awesome that you don't have to take medications! I am lucky in that area as I don't have to take any medicine, but I am sure that I would have had to sooner or later had I kept up my unhealthy eating/non-exercising habits!

Chey 07-13-2008 12:29 AM

Hey! I put lotion on my legs today and my feet! I didn't realize while I was doing it I was putting lotion on my feet while I was sitting down. No feet hitched up to my knees and no grunting or holding my breath while I was bending over! LOL :)

Farseashore 07-13-2008 09:13 AM

I am looking forward to reduced blood pressure & cholesterol, and being able to buy clothes because I like the way they look, not just because they fit.

Tracymichelle 07-13-2008 11:42 AM

One of the biggest things I was looking forward to was being able to go to an amusement park and actually ride the rides (epecially roller coasters) with my sons. I could not fit less than a year ago. I am happy to say that I went last Tuesday and I fit in every ride!! That was a VERY happy moment for me!

I have accomplished so many things already. There are so many things that I can do that I could not. I do look forward to shopping in normal stores and feeling like a "girly girl!"

luvmyfam 07-14-2008 02:37 AM

That's AWESOME, Tracy! Woohoo!!

I kind of understand. Right now, if we were to go to our favorite family-run place near here, I might be able to get in, but I'm majorly smooshed by the lap bars!!! I'd love, love, love, to not have my gut squished in so I can fit in the dang roller coaster cars.

IrishRover 07-30-2008 08:24 AM

I'm looking forward to not looking terrible in my sisters wedding pictures in march and maybe even looking nice, and to not feeling like everyones looking at me if im in a t-shirt with no jumper on (jumpers hide the belly)

crazy4weightloss 07-30-2008 03:38 PM

I am looking forward to

~seeing a picture of me and my kiddos and not cringing when I see myself

~not feeling or being the biggest mom in my kids class

~feeling sexy again

~going shopping in normal stores

~wearing tank tops

DollyLang 07-30-2008 04:41 PM

I've just started WW last week and I have SO many things that I'm looking forward to!
I have sleep apnea and I'd like to get rid of that.
I want to be able to shop in my closet and wear all the nice clothes that are waiting for me. I want to look good in clothes and jewlery.
I want my Dh to look at me the way he does some women that catches his eye.
I want to be able to look in the mirror and like what I see.
I want to be able to go into Victoria's Secret and have something fit. I've never worn sexy underwear before.
I don't want to be ashamed when I go out in public.
I could go on and on......

I can't wait!

swae85 07-30-2008 08:51 PM

it's a bit weird but i can't wait to use normal sized towels instead of bath sheets!
