Default The Wicked Whoopie company just did me a huge favor

They have new packaging for their whoopie pies.

It now includes nutrition facts.

Wowza.

Well, at least now I know that my favorite oatmeal whoopie pie is a whopping 16 points. AND 5 grams of trans fat!!! If that doesn't kill the craving, I don't know what will.

I think the one I ate tonight will be my last. I don't do trans fat.

I hate when I find out things I used to eat all the time were filled with junkie nutrition. Usually I try to find a recipe that tastes similar, but is healthier.

Reminds me of dinner the other night --my husband was having grilled steak, I was planning on grille veggies -- just for fun I figured out his daily points which are 37 (mine are 32) and the points value of his steak -- 25, including the two beers he had with it -- 29 points! I was amazed/proud that I could eat dinner for under 7 points and he was so off!! Of course, as is always the case, he couldn't gain weight if he ate five boxes of your Whoopie pies (that's not right!!).

Are they the same thing as a Moon Pie? I used to just love those when I was a kid, but haven't seen any around for years and years. They were chocolate covered graham-stuff with a marshmallow type filling. You could also get them in vanilla and banana flavors.

I was going to say, what's a whoopie pie? It sounds like it makes a rude noise when you bite on it or something

But yeah, I agree, nutritional info on packages saves the day!

Hubby and I were talking about this yesterday as well. As I look up more point values, and then compare them to what we have eaten, he is amazed (me too)!

We were coming back from grocery shopping commenting on how expensive it is to eat healthy and then got on the topic of the dollar menu at the local burger joint. I told him I thought it was sad that a person could eat cheaper but not necessarily healthier at those places for a month, than it was to buy fresh veggies & fruits, whole grain breads, lean meats, etc.

I don't know what it is like in other countries, but here in the USA, we have an obesity problem and we have many people in our area of the country who are barely making it from paycheck to paycheck and that directly reflects on their lack of a healthy lifestyle.

It just makes me sad....

moon pies, are 2 large soft cookies sandwiched together with a very sweet whip cream, like a very large drake's devil dog. They are very good, but, not at the cost of 16pts.

Chey-yes it is very sad, if they only knew that healthy could actually save them money in the long run, less meds, dr visits, knee and hip replacements, the list is endless.....
