This Week I Accomplished/Next Week I Commit To...

If any of you use the 3-month planning journals you can get from WW, you'll recognize this as what shows up at the end of every week's tracking pages. I was thinking about how there are some things that I really need to re-focus on for next week, and I was kicking myself for a bunch of things I did wrong this week. But of course, it's always far more constructive to focus on the positives, and take a "can-do" approach to solving your problems.

I know it's not the beginning of a new WW week for everyone, but I think it can still be a helpful exercise at any point. I know I need to do this and kind of "finalize" my commitments for next week, I hope some of you ladies will join me in this! :)

Last week, I accomplished:
1) I made healthy choices at restaurants the two nights I ate out.
2) I prepared my lunches ahead of time so I was able to grab them quickly in the morning.
3) I ate up to my target points every day (and beyond that, but that's another matter ).

Next week, I commit to:
1) Exercise at least every other day, starting Saturday.
2) Entirely avoid the chip/cookie aisle when I go grocery shopping.
3) Make sure I'm entirely present in the process of eating -- no mindless snacking like last week. If I'm going to eat a snack, I'm going to sit down with it and concentrate on it so I know what's happening.
4) With the exception of a post-workout snack, I will not eat anything after I've put the "period" on dinner.
5) Not use many FPs during the week, as I'm going out of town Fri/Sat and will invariably end up eating out (and needing those FPs).

 I have a lot of commitments for the coming week, as I've been pretty off-track this week. There are a lot of things I need to fix!

Lovely 02-29-2008 09:54 AM

Suite - What a GREAT idea! I use this function every week to keep everything in perspective. I'd love to join in :) I don't always have neat little lists like you, though hee hee ^^ You have such great ideas for threads :D I like what you're trying to accomplish. Nothing wrong with setting our goals high ^^

Last week I accomplished:
I exercised every day. I used my points nearly exactly every day. I was eating more fruits to healthfully add points to my meals.

Next week I commit to:
Plan my weekend meals ahead of time tonight. Keep the fruits/veggies on hand and ready to eat for snacks. Continue to exercise each day.

I don't always try too many *new* things in my commitments... but that's because, especially with exercise, I have to commit to it each week or it starts to drop off!

ifindhope 02-29-2008 11:06 AM

good idea :)

Last week, I accomplished:
1. eating low points meals throughout the day but still enough to sustain on days i was going out to eat and making good choices while out to eat (kind of haha).
2. planned meals!!
3. exercised more then NOTHING haha

Next week, I commit to:
1) exercising (how the h e double hockey sticks do you spell that GR) 4 times this week at least!!
2) none of that mindless food grazing/snacking - no bites here and there!
3) eat earlier dinners!!!
4) try to do all the healthy eight at least 6 days this week (shooting for all seven!)

looks like we have some of the same weak points/goals suite! haha as i'm sure many do. :)

Rosegarden 02-29-2008 12:35 PM

Can I join? I'm a flexer but have only lurked up here the past week or so - I'm usually down in the general area:

Last week, I accomplished:

1. Three good days of exercise (45 minutes or more)

2. I stuck out the week even though I was having bad late night eating issues

3. Read more posts here and joined back in the usual thread and stopped retreating into myself for bad self talk

Next week, I commit to:

1) Do more GOOD self talk

2) Pay more attention to the Healthy 8 guidelines

3) Plan, Plan, Plan

4) Stop late night grazing

Tendalaya 03-15-2008 01:35 PM

Last week I accomplished: A 0.4lb gain on the scale, :(, but increased my activity level by trying the new Hip Hop Abs video.. I can't get through the whole thing without a couple breathers yet, but hopefully in time!

This Week I commit to: Even more activity because I lack in this area, and a loss of anything would be nice! Maybe get through the video without stopping? Oh, and more fruits!

suitejudyblueeyes 03-15-2008 01:41 PM

Last week I accomplished - Somehow keeping my head above water despite numerous mental orders to binge. Managed a loss despite terrible eating.

This week I commit to - EXERCISE. At least three times this week. More would be fantastic but I want to make sure I achieve at least this!!

vdaybaby 03-15-2008 02:50 PM

Last week I accomplished: well not a whole lot, I guess eating veggies and fruits everday...

This week I commit to: working out at least 4 times, eating more veggies and fruits, working out hard

shelby897 03-16-2008 10:28 PM

This week I accomplished -- absolutely nothing :( -- fell off the wagon Tuesday morning and never managed to drag my sorry butt back on.

Next week I commit to -- getting back on track: 1. Writing my food down/tracking my points again.
2. Drinking my water -- no soda!!
3. Back to 30 minutes exercise per day.
4. Recommitting to myself -- I can and will do this!!!

Good luck to everyone!!!

suitejudyblueeyes 03-29-2008 11:09 AM

Bringing this thread back because I definitely need to recommit to a couple things this week.

This week I accomplished
-I drank at least 48 ounces of water each day. It's still not quite enough, but the most I've drank consistently since I restarted WW in January - so woohoo for that! Now to keep it up!

Next week I commit to
-Tracking. I haven't been consistently tracking for a good three weeks.
-Breaking out the measuring spoons/cup. I have a feeling I'm starting to suffer from portion distortion again.

I generally feel like I've let myself get a little too relaxed about staying OP, I need to re-focus this week. I kinda feel like I have one foot in the wagon and the other one hanging outside of it, sooner or later I'll lose my balance and fall off if I don't take care of this now!

Institches21 03-29-2008 11:35 AM

Hey Love this-thanks Suite

Last Week:
Did not give up-even though I really hate that darn scale
Ate all my milk points
Did not dive into any m&m's or pb cups
Had celery and carrots for a snack-instead of my yummy haystacks

This Week:
STOP getting on that darn scale every day
Make sure I measure everything, no guessing
Do my Yoga tape more not just TJ
make more time for something fun

ifindhope 03-29-2008 01:35 PM

ok need to refocus as well

This week I accomplished
- um... NOTHING. ok - resisted to urge to go get the fast food i was craving (CRAVING FAST FOOD? GROSS!) and stayed OP and tracked for... 3 days HAHA

Next week I commit to
- TRACKING like i never tracked before.
- jumping back on the wagon in full force
- sticking to my written down and PLANNED work-outs
- not weighing myself until weigh-in
- resisting crappy food/emotional eating
- feeling BETTER about myself.

oh man what a time to start a new week, WHEW.

Gigglicious 03-29-2008 06:26 PM

This week i accomplished
1)a 4 lb loss:carrot:
2)walking to and from work 1.5 times

Next week i commit to :
1) walk home each day
2) exercise atleast 4 times not including walking
3) track my points carefully and ON PAPER not mentally(which i do well but i tend to make less healthy choices when tracking mentally)

vdaybaby 03-29-2008 07:29 PM

Last week I accomplished:
-working out 4 days!
-eating veggies and fruits everyday
-working out really hard

This week I commit to:
-working out at least 4 days
-not eating as many sweets or carbs
-staying on the wendie plan accurately
-measuring more of my foods

traveling michele 03-29-2008 08:12 PM

This week I accomplished:
I worked out every single day!
I tracked most of the time
I ate well most of the time
Planned meals and cooked most of them at home

Next week I commit to:
Working out again almost every day
Tracking every day
Making sure I drink all of my water
Be less obsessed about what the scale is saying as long as I am sticking to plan! I have the bad habit of weighing myself daily-- my weight fluctuated wildly this week and ended up 1.6 pounds at my weigh in today. I refuse to be frustrated-- okay...maybe a bit!

vdaybaby 04-04-2008 06:50 PM

Okay well I definitely need to write up this thread because I haven't lost ANY weight...and need this motivation...

This week I accomplished:
-worked out 4 times (possibly 5 if I work out tomorrow)
-hit all of my wendie plan points
-measure more of my foods
-ate less carbs

Next week I commit to:
-working out 4 times (is going to be hard since I have classes all week and work all week)
-after Saturday, not eating any take out food unless it is extremely healthy, even if it is within my points
-after Saturday, not drinking any alcohol
-continue to measure my foods accurately

suitejudyblueeyes 04-05-2008 11:36 AM

This week I accomplished
-I tracked every day on this board. I didn't stick to the paper tracking but at least I came here and wrote down everything I ate, even when it was kind of embarrassing :p
-I continued to drink 48oz of water every day.
-I stayed within my FPs this week, unlike last week!!

Next week I commit to:
-Focusing on what I'm eating, not just how much. My FPs this week were mostly spent on junk food and stuff, I'd like to increase the nutritional value of what I'm eating. So I guess the way to turn this into a measurable goal is to say that no more than 20 points this week will come from snacky treats (this includes evening ice cream/popcicles). I'm pretty sure I had closer to 35 junk points this past week so 20 might be a bit of a challenge!

3) Working out 5 days

catmama 04-16-2008 04:57 PM

Last week I Accomplished:

1) A 3.4 lb weight loss :cheer2:
2) I just made my goal of getting in exercising 5x during the week. Seemed to be really good at coming up w/excuses not to exercise. The biggest killer was if I deviated from my daily schedule. Also if I don't get enough sleep the night before. I knew this but didn't understand the full impact. Oh well.
3) I recorded everything in my journal - the good, the not so good and the oh-oh.
4) I tracked my points.
5) I am learning from boo-boos. The weekend turned out to be much more challenging than I expected. I feel off-track on Sunday w/a concrete (thick thick thick) milkshake but I've figured out the reasons why. What I didn't expect was my hubby being a saboteur of sorts off and on during the week. So, now that I've spotted it, I'll have to figure out a way to deal with it. I'm working on it. And (see #2), I've figured out one big reason I don't exercise.

6) The cool part was that when I feel off plan, I didn't beat myself up this time. Instead, I wrote it down, tried to isolate the cause and a solution. I also teamed up with a weight loss buddy so we could be support each other.

7) I tried to follow the plan. Packed lunches and snacks (even tho' I work from home), made a menu, threw out dangerous food. But I still strayed on Tuesday and Sunday. So this went right back into my goals for this week.

This Week's Goals:

1) Stay on the plan.
2) Exercise 5x
3) Deal positively w/sabotage and challenges (2 upcoming social events).
4) Plan ahead with weekly menus for the rest of the month

Institches21 04-20-2008 10:58 AM

3-worked out 6 days :D
4-did not give in to any sweets at the party- and that tandy cake looked so yummy, told those funny voices NO!! Thank You -- Wahoo :carrot:

Next Week:
1-Back on Flex Points this week- going to try to eat all my AP points and some of my FP, "a car can not run without proper fuel"
2-continue to get in my exercise daily-maybe more stretching and yoga
3-spend more time on fun things, replace my sadness
4-try to journal my feelings, instead of keeping it all in, it's okay to feel sad sometimes.

Ladybballer24 04-23-2008 07:53 AM

Catmama - You are figuring out the things that are holding you back. You'll break through, you've done the ground work already. Keep pushing.

InStitches - :cheer2: Great for not giving in to the sweets. It's hard, I struggle with pretzels of all things. Auntie Anne's are so good. I would like to take a page from your book and begin to journal more.
