Guess what i almost did....

  • I was in a hurry to make supper tonight (busy night), and I decided to put some hamburgers on the BBQ. So i pulled out a box of burgers and thought to myself (I will just eat one burger with no bun). I quickly had a glance at the nutrition section on the box as I was breaking the burgers apart, and noticed each burger was 380 calories and 29 grams of fat (it was those deluxe burgers, they had bits of tomatoes and bacon and chese already in them). I quickly decided to put it back in the box and took out a piece of Sole Fish for myself instead at 50 calories a piece. I was so happy with the decision i made. The burger would have been without the bun and without the condiments, i just found it not worth it to me. Before I would have never checked, If i felt like it i would have cooked and enjoyed eating it.
  • Thats wonderful! That is definatly some major will power!
    Congrats!
  • Congratulations, watching labels and heeding the warning is a lot of what we learn to do now. WTG
  • That's fantastic! I am so proud of you!!! Great job and now you get to feel proud of yourself rather than "cruddy" if you had eaten the burger! Way to go!
  • Good for you! Checking those labels is so important. What they reveal can be very surprising. One day, my b/f was drinking a can of iced tea and offered me some. I first looked at the label and it said 90 calories per serving, to which he replied, "that's not so bad," but then I pointed out that there were 3 servings in one can. 270 calories in one beverage! You could have a McDonald's hamburger for that--so not worth it!
  • Those lables can be tricky but are definitely worth the read.
