Today is the one year anniversary of my decision to take control of the food I eat instead of letting it control me. A year ago, I weighed 225 lbs and wore a size 22. This morning I weighed 152 and am sitting here typing this wearing a pair of size 9 jeans that aren't even tight! I've lost 10 inches off my waist and 13 inches off my hips. I have PCOS and since losing weight my cycles have been normal for the first time in my life.
I know that you've heard it before but honestly if I can lose weight you can too! Sometimes it felt like I was going nowhere and other times the weight was flying off. The last 2 1/2 months have been hard (lots of up and downs) but I'm finally in the right frame of mind to finish this up and start maintaining.
I lost my weight by counting calories and exercising. Honestly it's as simple as that.

Congratulations on your anniversary! Isn't it amazing how we can change our lives in just a year? The time would have gone by whether or not you took control and today would still be May 24, 2006 ... aren't you so glad that you're in your size 9's today and NOT those 22's!
WOW. That is really inspiring. I needed that too, I was just feeling hopeless about me being able to take this weight off and then I read your post. I does give me some hope, I just have to believe I can.
I started at 224 and my goal weight is 155. And I see that I can make it to the finish line! Thanks for that encouragement. I was actually just considering staying where I am at now, a size 14, which isn't bad considerng I was a 20 when I started. But I am going to keep on movin'. Once again thanks...
