Under 300 (First Goal)

  • I am really tall, (about 6'2") so my numbers will be above that of an average woman at between 5'5" or 5'-7". The horrible part of being really tall is I can also weigh a lot, and it is not apparent. For instance, I can be 200 pounds and look fairly "slim" and yet the extra weight is bad for my health.
As you can see from my join date, I have been at 3FC a long time. I went off somewhere and started a high carb low fat vegetarian/vegan diet thinking it would help. It did not. I ended up gaining more weight and just giving up on life. I was so angry at myself for not being perfect that I stopped trying to lose weight. (I think we have all been there). Finally, I started to listen to lectures from the HFLC or just LC scientists and physicians and decided to try that sort of a diet to see if it worked any better.

I started this present diet on 3/17/17. Losing weight was pretty easy, but then I got into plateau after plateau. This is probably the point where people give up on diets, thinking they have done everything possible. What I learned is that you just need to keep going and that oscillating up-down will eventually fall lower. It is almost like you are in a little boat on a big river and you have run into some whitewater. You just have to stick to the boat. (That's my positive advice for the day!)

I have gone from 335 to 296 pounds so far. Today is 9/15/17-- so that is about 6 months.

My next goal is 233 pounds, which is going to be the point at which I go from obese to overweight.

My ultimate goal is about 175, which to me is a size 18. Size 16 would be better, but I would take size 18!
  • Giselley- congratulations! I always love your posts, you have learned a lot and your posts contain all kinds of bits of wisdom. Losing nearly 40 lbs in 6 months is a great accomplishment!

  • Great job, congratulations!!
  • EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT!

A definite example of sticking to an outcome.
