  • Yay! Today my bmi moved from obese to overweight.

It took 41.6 lbs, but I made it! It took a few days shy of 5 months doing a combination of south beach diet, calorie counting and exercising for an hour 5 days a week. People want to know my secret, it's no secret. I stopped eating processed food. I do indulge every now and again.

I feel so much better, I can wear way cuter clothes and I'm really getting in better shape. I checked my blood pressure yesterday - 117/64. At the start of this it was 130/90+ My pulse rate has gone down from the 80's to the high 60's/low 70's.

For those with a lot to lose - I never really contemplated the overall number. I didn't even set an end goal for a long time. I made lots of teeny tiny goals, I even have a list of them I check off as I go along and I can feel a sense of accomplishment hitting a new goal. I also give myself a date to accomplish it by - I makes it achievable, and not too far away. Next up - 20% weight loss which is 181.2.
  • Mini Goals = Mini Wins
Congrats on getting healthier! I've been working on acknowledging my mini wins. This includes food prep every Sunday, packing my meals and watering my plants in the morning! It's been 1.5 weeks and I'm feeling good 🤘
  • Go Go Go!
    Congrats! Keep on keeping on!

  • My BMI was 29 six months ago now it is 25 and still I am obese but at least I am motivated and I WANT to get fit
  • That is amazing. Congratulations.
  • Nice! I felt the same way when I dropped from obese to overweight.

    Congrats!
  • Congratulations! I think the mini goals are the only way to go.
  • Congrats!!! You did well!!
  • Congrats on reaching your mini goal. Keep going strong.
  • Congrats to you! Your story is so close to what mine is. I just went into the overweight range for my BMI today! I also took a little over 5 months to complete this and have lost 56 pounds. I did it with portion control along with watching my calories and I am now a runner, an overweight runner, but a runner. I run 3 miles a day 3 days a week and walk or do Zumba 2 days a week. I get a lot of people asking about my "secret" as well. I think the secret is willpower, determination and hard work. Not much of a secret at all. Congratulations to you on this journey!
