My Annual Watermelon Pic!

  • Hi! It's time for my "watermelon photo"!

    Some background:
In 2014, I was carrying a watermelon into my company picnic and asked a coworker to take a picture. "Just like in Dirty Dancing!"
When I saw the picture, I was devastated.

One year later, in June of 2015, I remembered that photo and asked my husband to take one of me, holding a watermelon, so I could compare them side by side. I was feeling a little down and frustrated, like I wasn't getting anywhere. When I saw 2014 next to 2015, I cried. A LOT. I had no idea how far I had come.

On Saturday, I realized that "hey, it's June again!" Now, I've been in a plateau for the past 4 months, and I only need to lose about 20 more pounds, and I don't really see too much of a difference from last year and this year....but here it is. The Watermelon Pic.

It's simply diet/calorie counting/portion control, exercise, weight lifting, boxing, cardio, tears, laughter and support.

    You've got this.

  • Fantastic work! If your clothes fit better and you feel good about yourself, I wouldn't worry about not seeing a difference in the plateau and your photos. You have done a good amount of changing your outside package which you should be proud of. Good for you on your accomplishments!
  • You're looking great!!
  • Lookin' good girl!!!
  • Wow!!! You look awesome! Its nice to remind yourself how far you've come to really motivate you during your plateaus. Keep killing it!
  • I love your watermelon pic tradition.
  • Thanks! The funny part about this year's picture was that I was shopping by myself and I had to ask a complete stranger to take it. I told her the whole story; she took it on the condition that I meet her at the exact place and time in 2017!!! She was so awesome.
  • Hahaha!!!!!!!! :d
  • I love this so much! You look awesome and there is a total difference for the better between each year of photos!
  • What a great idea! You look fab! Well done!
  • i love this! well done you can most definitely tell between all the photos that the weight is coming off..... plus your getting younger with age it seems
  • Love the story behind it. You've done excellent work!
