I'm all about the mini goals

  • I am all about mini goals! Looking at my weight loss journey as a 100 pound journey seems impossible to me so I am just breaking it down to 25 pounds at a time. Started my journey on Jan. 21 of this year and I am down 15 pounds so far (started at 274). Only 10 pounds to go to hit my first 25 pound goal. I am hoping to reach that by end of Feb.
  • Awesome, you are more than halfway to your first goal!

I like doing it by 10lbs, seeing each new "decade". The first time I lost weight (over 100lbs), I did a bracelet too and added a small bead for 5 pounds, a big one for 10. It was nice to see my progress on my wrist even when I couldn't see it on my body. And the jingle it made when I moved reminded me not to be stuffing my face with anything unhealthy.

I'm excited to read your updates! Good luck!
  • Oh, I really like that idea of a bracelet! That's fantastic. I'm going to start mine this weekend. 2 big beads and 1 small bead for my bracelet so far. Thanks for the idea.
  • You're welcome. They weren't anything fancy, just something I picked up at Hobby Lobby with a coupon. But the sentimental value was priceless.
  • I wonder if hubby would mind if I added a charm to my Pandora bracelet for every 5 pounds?? lol
  • LOL you could no longer call the value priceless!

But if you think about it...whatever you spend on your bracelet is money you aren't spending on fast food, plus size clothes, doctor's appointments due to poor health, etc.

So dieting and weightloss actually saves us money...except when we hit Pandora.
  • I was thinking about making my first mini goals be 10% of my starting weight, but I, too, like your bracelet idea. I felt like losing 10% would break it into more manageable amounts and I won't get so overwhelmed.
  • Mini goals sound so doable! Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will try mini goals with my weight loss journey as well.
