Lost 14 pounds!

  • I started mid may and have so far lost 14 pounds. It's a slow process but I am going down at a pretty steady pace of 1.5 pounds a week, so not too bad!

My 2nd mini goal is 145 by mid August...I got to keep up the exercise, sometimes I can't muster enough enthusiasm for it.

Once in awhile, I fantasize about food and having a breakdown, and eating everything in the cupboard...how do you deal with the weak moments?
  • 1st- way to go! steady weightloss is awesome. you fought for every one of those lbs and won 14 times.

i tell myself that yes, i absolutely could eat all the food in the kitchen. no one would stop me. but i don't need to do it *right now*. if two hours from now the feeling is still overwhelming, have at it! in the mean time I drink a glass of water, grab an apple, find a productive activity.

also, i ask myself what it is i actually want. do i really want an entire large pizza or do i want to be comforted about that argument i had with my friend? is it cookies i'm craving like mad, or am i just bored? and lastly, is eating going to fill the need i'm feeling? cause sometimes...yea...i'm craving cookies cause i just want a damn cookie. lol.

    congratulations again. you rock!
  • Congratulations! that is great result! the slower you lose weight the longer you will not gain again;-) with you good luck with your second goal! keep going and do not stop and you will achieve all of your goals!

  • I clean something or take the dogs for a walk. Get your mind on something other than annihilation of your cupboards a la swarm of locusts.
Way to go! And good luck!
  • Thanks guys! I am new on this site and it's great to get more support for one's weight loss journey. I need all the encouragement...

I am trying to exercise now when I get hungry. I don't feel as hungry after a workout video or a walk...I wish I had a dog to walk.

I'll try to clean, but I feel like it will make me want to nibble more on junk.
  • Congrats on your progress. Keep the momentum going...
  • Also, this is probably horrible for your teeth, but my sister will chew some ice.
I think she gets the little tiny ice like Sonic has. She buys it by the bag.

Now I'm gonna wait to be hit by all the people who are gonna say how bad this is.
  • Yay! Congrats!
  • Chew ice eh? that's interesting.

How about gum? I may try both.
  • It's been a year since my last post...just to update, I am now 126.2 pounds. My goal is 115 to 120 pounds...so still a couple of pounds to go

I've been busy in a new city, but I will be on here more for the last stretch of my weight loss journey. Thank you all for your support
  • Wow! What a fantastic new post!!! It has been a wonderful, successful year for you! What a way to stay committed and inspire others. Congratulations!
