Default I did it! Big NSV

I ran for 40 minutes - 3.2 miles - without stopping

Yay! That's slightly more than a 5k run! I didn't plan to do this when I went to the gym this morning; I was just going to run 3 minutes and walk two throughout the workout. But I felt strong so instead of doing 3 minutes I decided to do 5. Then after I still felt strong after 5, I decided to do a full mile.

When i got to a full mile, I decided to try to tie my record of two consecutive miles. When I got there, I decided to beat my record, if only for one extra minute. But I decided to run 30 consecutive minutes. And once I got there, I figured I should try for my all-time best from 7 years ago and I ran 3 miles.

I was really tired, but I have always wanted to say I ran 5k, so I forced myself to run another .2 miles. I didn't know exactly how much over 3 miles a 5k was at the time but I figured 3.2 miles was about right. I just couldn't do more than 3.2 miles anyway.

So tired but so proud of myself

Fur runners out there, what should I focus on next: staying at the same distance but increasing my speed from 4.8 mph to 5+ mph, or keeping the same speed but increasing my distance to 3.5 or 4 miles?

That's awesome! I would do both. you can't 'fast' every time. So, a good fat burn is to run slower, and then you can maybe try to increase your distance.
anyhow, tha'ts a GREAT NSV!! good job
