50 lbs down!!
I have been on this journey since January 2011. After losing 44 lbs between January and September, I then got stuck and even gained back 10 lbs between September and January 2012. But, I am happy to report that I am back on track. I managed to lose what I gained PLUS some...and finally hit the 50 lb mark! (Actually kind of by-passed it for 52 lbs!)
I am SO excited! I would like to lose another 25 lbs and then I will re-evaluate to see how I look and feel. I have no idea, since I have never been that low of a weight in my adult life. I can't wait!!
Sorry - no pics yet. I have too much to do to rummage through my files for some, but I will definitely post pics when I hit goal. I have lost some weight before, including 40 lbs before my wedding in 2004, but always gained it back. This time I am confident that I am doing it the right way, and that I will be able to maintain. So many things have helped and continue to help me on my journey..supportive friends and family (my husband has lost 90 lbs), a blog to keep myself motivated and accountable, "skinny" goal clothes for every size as I go down in sizes, wanting to be healthy for myself and my children, taking up running (to date I have done two 5ks, a 7k, and am training for a half marathon)....the list goes on. One piece of advice I have for anything thinking about starting this journey, or in the middle of their journey but struggling - make a list of reasons why you want to get healthy. Not skinny, but HEALTHY. Then be sure to review those often, especially when you are feeling crappy about things. Try to stay focused on those for motivation.
Hopefully in a few months I will be posting GOAL!
