Default No longer obese!

I am now merely "overweight"! I'm in my 30s and this is the first time I could say that since probably the 6th grade.

I just had to share with someone! I have been kind of private about the weight loss thing in my regular life, because I didn't want people asking me about it (maybe in case I failed). What makes me truly proud of this one is that I suffered out a loooooong plateau from July-November last year. I managed to at least maintain and not backslide during that time. It has been so long since I hit any of my mini goals. It feels really, really good! Also, to any of you who are super frustrated with a plateau, just keep going! Mix it up, and try something different until you find something that works again, but don't give up!

That is so wonderful. I agree with what you said about the plateau- I also have been in a terrible stall since Christmas. I changed up this week and exercised daily. I not only feel better with more energy...but the scale finally moved also.
Congratulations on not being obese anymore- that is a great accomplishment!

I too can sympathize with the evil plateau! I was stuck in one from about August straight through until Christmas. I finally broke free when I went back to the drawing board on my diet (made sure I am eating one gram of protein per pound of lean body mass) and got at least 3-5 workouts in (at LEAST 45 mins each) per week.

Congrats for busting through and not giving up, that's an acheivement in and of itself! It is so easy to slink back into old habits when the scale doesn't seem to be moving!
