BMI is better

  • I checked my BMI on several sites' calculators & got the same result: 29.7, which they all say is (just barely) out of the "you are officially obese" category.
It feels like a minor victory. I had said when I first started here that what kicked my butt in gear was an upcoming family reunion, and that's true. But a close second was being able to prove on paper (for ins. cos. & the like) I've reduced my risk for the various health problems associated with being obese and overweight.

The sites I checked my BMI on were the AARP's; the CDC, the American Heart Assn., & the U.S. gov.'s (I think it was health & human resources).

It's a baby step of relief.
  • Woo!
  • Woot! Congratulations!
  • Congrats! Yep, going to overweight from obese was the only time in my life where I'm like, "YES! I'm overweight!" Lol

    Yay for you!
  • I totally remember that milestone, too. It is a really important one and absolutely should be celebrated!!

    Congratulations!!
  • Thanks, everyone (and congrats on how much all of you have lost!)!
LOL, yes, I really did think, "Woo-hoo, I'm overweight, not obese anymore!" Perspective, perspective.
  • Congratulations!
