NSV - Woo-Hoo!!

I am type 1 diabetic. had it damn near my entire time on this planet. Shots, pills, pump, you name it, iv'e used it at one time or another without any luck. I just couldn't get good tight control of my blood sugars. A "normal" person's average blood sugar over a 3 month period should be 6.0% or less. my used to average 14%. I went on the pump a few years ago and finally got it to average 9%, which I thought was great. UNTIL TODAY.

I have now lost 50 lbs and doing water aerobics and/or walking for 30 to 60 mins 3-5 times per week. Eating healthy. counting calories. NO STARVATION. NO PILLS. NO TRICKS. NO GIMMICKS.

I went to the Endo and she said my blood sugar is 5.8% !!! that is less than the average joe and absolutely perfect! In fact, she said after I go back for one last blood test, she is releasing me from her care permanently and all I need to do is follow up with my family doctor every 6 months.

I still have a long, long way to go (90+ lbs to lose) but if I am doing this well after a 50 lb loss, I can only hope for good things down the road. First I found out I am cancer-free, now this.

All I can say is WOW.

Congratulations and I wish you all the best as you continue on in your goals. I also have some health issues that I hope will resolve with weight loss. Cancer free is worth it all. It seems to get everyone these days. WAY TO GO!!!

I'm incredibly happy for you. Diabetes can wreak havoc on the body and to see you reverse it like this is wonderful news. Good job!!!!
