Thanks for all the positive responses. My secret so far is meats and lots of vegetables. I stay away from simple starches such as bread, pasta, corn meal and potatoes. When preparing a meal it is typically 1/3 meat and 2/3 vegetables. Walking a lot has also been beneficial. Yesterday I walked 3 miles over 4 sessions. It is helpful walking on work breaks, at lunch and sometimes after work. Yesterday's 3 miles was about a mile more than usual but feeling strong at the end of the third mile is encouraging me to strive for 3 more often.
I just had to move up one more notch on my belt to keep my pants up. 3 so far. Maybe a new belt and clothes in my future.

I hope this helps.
