Fantastic! You've come such a long way! You are so lucky to have such a wonderful support system I hope you are very proud of yourself.

Btw, you live not too far from me at all, I live in West Bloomfield.

Congrats Daniela, I saw your time, 32.43, that is super. It was a fun event and we could not have asked for better weather. I wish I had spotted you, it would have been great to meet.

I'll try to post a couple of the picture my sister took.

Hi HilaryAnne, Thank you much Are you registered for a 5K yet? OMG you are going to love it. Afterwards I was like okay that's it, I wanted to keep going. I just really enjoyed the event atmosphere, the accomplishment, what a high! So yes, I am doing more races. I'm going to do a 5K in Dearborn on 4/4 and then a 10K in Ann Arbor on 5/10. Where are you in MI?

Yes, I actually ran my first 5k today! I finished in 40:58, which is my personal best.. woo hoo! I'm from Grand Rapids and I ran the Irish Jig that's in East GR. I have to agree that it's an awesome atmosphere, I'm signed up for 2 more and hopefully will find even more than that!

Hey Daniela, I haven't been able to post the pictures my sister sent from her blackberry. They won't copy for some reason. Have you checked out the professional picture taken at the event? They have several of me only, I think it was because I was walking by myself, there were groups of people in front and behind me, but I was pretty much by myself for a long stretch. Even the lady I went with was a bit ahead of me. If you get a chanc to check them out, my bib number was 549, the girl in the striped hat with me is my sister, she ran but then met me at the end and walked around that last block with me.

Thanks for posting the Chicken Tamale Casserole recipe on your blog. I made it last week, it was very good.

Keep up the great work, I'm sure you'll meet your next mini goal soon.

Sharon, great pics of you at the race! Love the one of you and your sister. Glad you two had a nice time. I was going to race again this weekend in Dearborn (my neighbor wants a rematch because I beat him hahah) but I have a knee injury. I'm so frustrated, I haven't been able to run all week, I tried last night but it still hurts. I might go to the doc next week if it isn't better. Just trying to stay focused on the weightloss and not let this bum me out to much.

Any new races for you? Your doing a great job by the way I'm glad you liked the recipe I posted. I got it from Cooking Light magazine they have some great stuff!

Take care!

Daniela, I'm so sorry about your knee injury, don't rush to run too soon, you don't want to do more damage.

It looks like we are going to have a group of us at the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run, on May 31. My sister has twin son's that just turned 13, on of them ran the first one and now his brother wants to join them on this one. My hubby and another friend, who happens to be the son of the lady that walked with me is going to join us too. Hubby and I have been trying to get to Lower Huron Meto Park to walk at least 2-3 times a week. He is even running some, I've tried a little but the knees get very sore. Maybe after I dop a little more weight. I've actually been staying on plan better lately and it is showing on the scales.

You keep up the great work, you're making amazing progress.
